How many times does Banny want to remove one of our better relievers when the slightest nick happens to him to bring in guys who have been bums on a consistent basis this year. You were right on your preference Murph.

With the runners at 2nd and 3rd, if you absolutely have to make a move there, you go to Kela or someone thats gonna get swings and misses vs a guy like Tony who's gonna get contact. I said this a couple weeks ago, when Jeff did the same damn thing with Barnette then. It cost them that game and it cost them again tonight. He just doesnt freaking learn

Odor that was your usual dogshit swing at a ball in the dirt for strike 3, so thanks for that

Lmao, for what?

Obviously not for that AB, but to try and recoup some of what we had to give up for he and Jeffress. He certainly hasn't fit the billing and he cost the Rangers a possible starting CF. His pitch framing hasn't been good, and his defense overall is down, not to mention he really hasn't hit.

So why not?

My point is, he ain't gonna bring much at this point.

Probably not but they aren't gonna pay him what he was asking before the season started and he's gonna walk in FA which is fine, so I would take what you can get. Doubtful he signs for what we offered in the spring, though he may get less now, who knows.

I agree w your point though, I have no idea what he will bring after his season so far

He was highly coveted July 31st of last year and he's 30 not 35. I think he brings in a decent haul of prospects and gets a pretty good contract from someone else next off season. His entire body of work for his career is still really good and he's still regarded as one of the best catchers in the game.

I've been saying all year that Banny sucks at the in game managing part, I'm glad other people are coming around to that opinion.

IDK about that? He's on the wrong side of 30, he doesnt want to play 1B really and he has declined this year. Not sure if it is just a down year or if he will continue to regress, but other GM's I am certain will take notice

I for one have never been to impressed with the way Jeff manages games.

I will give him credit for changing up the lineup ever so often, when something isnt working well, but he did bat Nap 4th way too long this season

The Rays have struck out 100 more times than the Rangers so far this year but they got 13 hits tonight.

Wow Texas pitching!

Rickie Weeks has struck out in over 50% of his AB's this year and the Rangers staff thought it better to trot Barnette out to face Rasmus, instead of Weeks facing Claudio.

Banister said after the game they thought that was the better matchup?

The dog ate their homework

Lucroy's trade value hasn't evaporated too much in my opinion. He had a terrible start to the season, but before tonight's game his OPS was .922 for his last 19 games. When this month is over his May OPS will probably be better than 4 of the 6 months he had in 2016. If he has a decent to good 4 weeks from this point forward then there will be a market for him.

Besides, we have found out the hard way that sometimes reputation is overvalued by those in charge of decision making so there very well could be some GMs out there who would love to trade for him thinking he will have a better second half.

With the way the trade deadline moves have gone while we were chasing pennants the last few years, I sure hope we flip the script and get some nice pieces that work out for us, vs what we have traded for the last few years.

Anybody else about had it with Odor?

I was a big fan of the 30+ HR's last year but even then I was not a huge fan of his inability to take a walk when an opposing pitcher was basically giving it to him. That and his defense is more than questionable.

Kinsler so far was the better option but they were thinking Profar. I was as infatuated with Prince as JD was, so I cant fault him in retrospect.

Roogie has lots of room for improvement though
