Rasul Douglas CB or Safety?

Rasul Douglas has been in the weight room A LOT this offseason

Always been a fan of his ... good ball hawk and took a step forward last season. This off season he's hit the weights and cardio hard. Hoping he takes another step at either Safety "or" Corner. I think his ball hawking and tackling skills may be best served at Safety when Malcolm eventually moves on. I think he has a shot at competing for starting Corner this season ... especially with the obvious improvement in strength and conditioning.

He always gets his hands on the ball when he's in there. I trust him, but I'd put more speed on the field first.

If he can really play safety that would be great for having a plan post-Malcolm.

I think he would be an excellent fit at either Safety spot moving forward. I thought he played well at Corner last season once he adjusted to extended playing time. Being stronger and leaner this year could see his quickness improve along with the gained experience from last season.

I would love to see him at Corner, but getting some reps (some game, definite practice) in Malcom’s spot.

Maddox was a surprise at S....but I always saw Sul more as the best chance to transition to S over guys like Mills.

No way do I trade him, unless it is for another stud if we need a particular player. He is rumored to be in a deal for Jerry Hughes, Buffalo DE. Hughes would be good, but i think if trade Douglas, he will come back to haunt us. He just needs to develop, and this could be a breakout season. I'd rather trade Darby, who is on his contract year.

They have repeatedly said no to the idea of playing him at safety. I am not sure why. But I think he may be too dumb to play safety or something. They really view him as a boundary corner, period.

Anyway, I like Douglas as a player and would love to see him beat out Jalen Mills for a starting job.

As long as Darby and Mills are still around they will sooner or later piss you off and you'll think there garbage back there.
Then of course as soon as you think that one of them goes and makes an incredible play to change your mine....

Any of the six could end up starting. In a perfect world it ends up being Jones, Douglas and Maddox and the Eagles save a lot of money.
