tl:dr (sorry @TigerBait1971 )

Alabama (5-0) - Very High, The Crimson Tide remain the team to beat in the SEC West – though the next three games (Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas A&M) will be the toughest part of the schedule. However, as we all know by now, the season doesn’t start until Alabama loses.

Clemson (5-0) - Very High,
We like the Tigers’ schedule better than the Buckeyes. Clemson took control of the ACC Atlantic race with a big win against Louisville, and a win at Florida State would all-but lock up a trip to Orlando for the ACC championship game. We like the Tigers’ odds.

Ohio State (4-0) - Very High, No team is playing better right now than Ohio State. The Buckeyes’ have surrounded J.T. Barrett with playmakers, and the defense has come around. As always with Urban Meyer, everything operates on an accelerated timetable. The Buckeyes will get tested a few times, but this is the best team in the Big Ten right now

Houston (5-0) - High, All Houston has to do is keep winning... if they win against Louisville later in the season it would most likely put them in the "Very High" Rating.

Michigan (5-0) - High, Michigan still has questions on offense and in the kicking game, but the Wolverines are on schedule with second-year coach Jim Harbaugh. The defense is operating at a championship level. Road dates at Michigan State, Iowa and Ohio State are the biggest roadblocks.

Washington (6-0) - High, Washington has the look of the best team in the Pac-12 after knocking out the defending conference champions last week. The Huskies are efficient on both sides under third-year coach Chris Petersen, and now it’s time to break the 12-year losing streak to Oregon.

Baylor (5-0) - Almost High, Baylor looks like the best bet to win the Big 12 as one of two remaining undefeated teams, but a close shave at Iowa State made us think twice. The Bears still have to go to Texas and Oklahoma, and one loss would probably knock them out of contention.

Texas A&M (5-0) - Almost High, Texas A&M’s door is open right now. Wins against Tennessee and Alabama the next two weeks would put the Aggies in the top spot. Trevor Knight is playing like a Heisman Trophy contender.

Tennessee (5-0) - Almost High, Tennessee is the most semi-charmed team in the FBS is right here. The Volunteers have battled back from four different double-digit deficits this season, and now they have a tall order in winning at Texas A&M. Still, Tennessee is in the driver’s seat in the SEC East, and that means they are very much in the College Football Playoff hunt.

Miami (FL) - Medium, Miami and first-year coach Mark Richt look like a perfect match, and that means the Hurricanes have an excellent shot of winning the ACC Coastal Division. Miami can show just how “for real” they are by ending a six-game losing streak to Florida State this week.

West Virginia (4-0) - Medium, West Virginia is the other unbeaten team in the Big 12, and TCU, Oklahoma and Baylor all have to come to Morgantown. This is a team that could gain some momentum, but like Baylor the Mountaineers probably can’t lose a game.

Nebraska (5-0) - Medium, Nebraska is undefeated in Mike Riley’s second season, but the Huskers still have tough games at Wisconsin and Ohio State, among others. Tommy Armstrong Jr. is playing well and they could win the Big Ten West Division.

Boise State (4-0) - Low, Boise State is in a familiar role as a contender for the Mountain West Conference, and they know the standard from their days as BCS contender. You have to win all of them to be close to the conversation.

Maryland (4-0) - Low, Maryland is off to a fantastic start under first-year coach D.J. Durkin, and they can make an impression with a victory at Penn State on Saturday. It’s going to take a lot more work to win the Big Ten East.

Air Force (4-0) - Low, Air Force is enjoying another solid season under 11th-year coach Troy Calhoun, and they have a good shot at both the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy and Mountain West Conference championship.

I think Houston would have a chance for the playoffs ... but I wouldn't put them with a High chance.

Medium is about right. The overall schedule is just something the CFB Playoff Committee will have a problem with ... that's just fact. I mean hell, they were giving Baylor/TCU shit a few years ago and they were in a P5 conference, playing P5 teams each and every week.

Total body of work is not in Houston's favor. They know it and so does everyone else. That's why they're trying to get into a P5 conference. It's why other once "power mid-majors" have done the same.

Yeah the CFB Playoff Committee really does favor SoS and well Houston is in a pretty weak conference overall so a conference championship won't help too much.

Not gonna lie, I really wanna see Washington run the table and get in. I've long been a fan of Chris Petersen, and he's got something special going on up there. They're also young, so this could just be the beginning of Washington becoming a fixture in the top 10.

I won't lie I'm still confused to how Washington got so good during the off-season? Did I miss something? upload_2016-10-3_20-26-19.png

5 of their 6 losses were by 11 points or less, with 3 of those coming by 6 points or less. They were being led by a freshman QB and still played well. They finished strong and have talent. I know, it is surprising, but they have a really, really great coach.

Yep, pretty much this. We all said last year they could be something special if the offense could get it together, and it appears they have. They started clicking toward the end of last year, and seem to have improved from there over the off season. The young offense improving over the year coupled with the young defense who kept them in position to win every game is where the hype came from.

We just need to see them go on the road and beat their big rival who's given them a bunch of trouble in recent past. I can only speak for myself, but I think most of my fellow Husky fans will agree, if they go down there and get it done this week, we'll fully buy into the top 10/top 5 status.

They look the part of at least a top 10 team, no questions asked. If they ran the table I wouldn't be surprised at all.

I'd love to see it happen. He's such a classy guy. Such a great coach. He likely doesn't have the elite talent to get it done on the biggest of stages in the playoffs, but few teams in the country do. His team is relatively young and he's building something special. That's what he does.

Heard a stat about Washington yesterday that was pretty interesting. During the Stanford (aka Offensive Lineman U) Washington only blitzed once (and that play was nullified by penalty) the whole game and the Huskies still got something like 6 sacks.

Yup they lead the nation in sacks when sending 4 or fewer rushers. Their pass rush is scary.

Hopefully our highly ranked kicker Quinn Nordin (#1 in last year's class) recovers from his injury prior to hitting the hardest games left (MSU and OSU). I'm not too worried about how our offense performed against Wisconsin. Wisconsin's defense is legit. Add a kicker who can make simple field goals -- we win that game 23-7.

Freshman QB, Freshman RB, Freshman LT, their best WR was hurt before the season. Lost 3 first rounders off their D, including the NFL DROY. They lost to 12 win Stanford, 10 win Utah, at Boise,of course Oregon, a 8 win Cal team with Goff, and laid a real egg in the desert against Arizona st.

Life is tough in the Pac.

I like the Huskies. I doubt they could contend with Bama or OSU but their recruiting is already improving this cycle. I could see them becoming Clemson-type program. 10+ wins each year with a special season sprinkled in.
