The Heat were a good franchise before LBJ & Bosh also.

I am not arguing that. I have the Heat at #2. What they have done is remarkable, just not as impressive as the Spurs given all the advantages that Miami has. We may never again see a small market team who is able to contend for as long as the Spurs have.

My comment wasn't directed at you. Certain ppl in here make it seem like the Heat were a crappy franchise until LBJ came here which is false

:agree:

As others (maybe you) have pointed out, what they have accomplished in 25 years is more than most franchises have done in 50. I wish my team was run as well as the Heat have been.

You just listed a bunch of role players. Ability to attract free agents does have a lot to do with their roster, but the big names aren't looking at SA. The NBA is not a level playing field from city to city.

no it isnt. but SA has done well with their FAs. they dont need big names as long as they had Parker/Ginobili/Duncan. Texas also has no income tax, which im sure helps.

That is a very important point about the income tax.

Basically but ever since the mid/late 90's the Heat been a very good franchise and also been very consistent. If I'm not mistaken they only missed the playoffs 3 times since he came

who has the best drafts and who has the best front office arent the same question. i will give credit for parker and gibobili... but both picks were over a decade ago now. i will give no credit for duncan... that was a no brainer.

Who do you think make the pics in the draft? The players?

The Spurs find players that other teams dont want or know about, and win with them.

The Spurs are number 1, and its not a debate.

Apparently the lack of state income tax give San Antonio a HUGE edge over Miami.

Because that is an unfair advantage.

What exactly is the state income tax rate in Florida again?

smh

That being said, I am glad that under Riley's leadership, the Heat is shaping up to be one of the best franchises in the NBA.
