Andrus should have never made more than 10-12 million annually on that contract which would've put it at 8 years and 80 million, 88 million or 96 million, instead he got a tick below 15 million per year putting it at 8 years 118 million instead
12 million a year would've been a slight overpay but one that he could've attained most years of the contract, provided he play good defense throughout
AAV = Average Annual Value
I knew all along he would get 15 AAV. That's not a discussion about worth and should though. His agent is Boras and he plays a premium position. If he hit the open market this off season he would likely get 5 at 15 per from NY. He would be overpaid, but that's baseball.
