The Texas Rangers’ 3-2 win in 14 innings against Tampa Bay on Tuesday night was remarkable for several reasons.

That included the Rangers ended a streak of 48 consecutive losses when trailing after six innings, and their six pitchers combining for a walk-free performance.

This matched the most innings without a walk in a single game in club history. On July 14, 1972, the Rangers also did not allow a walk in a 2-0 loss to Cleveland.

Tepesch entered the game having allowed hitters a .390 batting average and .429 on-base percentage on the third time – or later – through the order. It led to a 12.46 ERA in the sixth inning for his 30 career starts.

There is a marked difference in Darvish’s performance in the stifling months of July and August and the rest of the season. He has a 4.21 ERA for those two months; it is 2.88 for all others.

For me, the stat on Darvish is concerning from the standpoint of his resigning.

I did not see the end of the game but based on the comments you all had about Elvis at bat and what Rosales had to say tell me it was idiotic. Here is what Rosales had to say about the game winning walk.

"I just kind of went off of Elvis at-bat. He really didnt give Elvis too many good pitches to hit, so I figured youve got to be really patient with this guy." No matter what we may think about Rosales at least he has a baseball IQ unlike many seem to have on this team.

I, unfortunately, did stay up to watch it and although they won, it was as painful to watch as Romeo and Rev described. Fielding miscues, base running miscues, and a lack of any offense... it was the kind of game that you're just glad is over with. The Rangers won because the Rays put in a relief pitcher who suffered from nerves and couldn't find the strike zone to save his life.

And I don't care what anyone else says- Elvis is NOT a leader and he is NOT worth that bloated contract. He's a mental midget. That at-bat with 1 out in the 14th was awful and not anywhere near the quality of a 120-Million $ player. I'm sick of seeing Elvis standing on the top of the dugout laughing and clowning around. I'm sick of his lackadaisical approach in the field (he bounced a throw to 1st on a routine grounder in extra innings). When you are performing nowhere near your contract amount and your team is in dead last in the majors, fans don't want to see you goofing off and booting routine plays.
