There is not ONE ace in our farm. In fact, there really isnt even a number 2. JT is more than likely a good 3, but you can go around the majors and look at every team. All of them have a potential 1 or 2 to be excited about (if they dont already have them in the bigs). Many of them have multiple. Seattle, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, KC, and more. Not us. Our best pitching prospect is Luke Jackson. We're crazy about him, but that's pretty much by default...

I mean think about it. If anyone in this organization (or fan, for that matter) thought Tepesch, Nick Martinez, Mikolas, or anyone else is gonna save this team next year you're dead wrong. Mikolas might be a number 5, but neither of the other two would start on any team.

I feel the same way about NT as I do Martinez. I don't want either in the rotation next year. I would keep NT because of injuries but I'm not a fan of either. I like Mikolas. He has the stuff to be successful. Only time will tell on him.

I think Chi Chi has people more excited than Jackson right now. I know I am. I don't know much about Thompson besides what I've read (and what you've said about him), but I'm excited to see how he responds after the beauty he pitched last night.

Tepesch is a career AA pitcher. The only reason he's on this team is that he's fully developed (in other words, his stuff isnt going to get better) and we needed a pitcher. Mikolas has decent stuff, but he needs to be a #5. Any higher than we have a problem. Martinez isnt worth anything. He needs to stay in AA as well. You're talking about dudes with no possible big league future. There is no way they can establish a career in the show.

I do like Chi Chi. But he's not a #2. I personally think he's a future mike adams-esque set up man. If he starts he'll be a MORP. I've watched JT since he was a sophomore in high school and I just feel like he's got it mentally to be better than anyone else. Probably has the stuff to be there too.

Truth is, none of us really know. They've all got really good stuff.

They just dont pan out to be a #2 or higher to me. Not any of them. And I cant even find any recent scouting reports that say they are either.
