As good as gonzo was early in the season he looks worse than Torrealba now.

I still think Torrealba gets the honor as worst hitter on the team. At least Gonzo chipped in with a hard hit single for an RBI. Torrealba's only offensive contribution was taking the walk on 4 pitches nowhere near the strike zone. Neither is very good though. I really wish we had a different backup catcher.

Scoot. Up. Street is just wearing out that outside corner and Young cant reach them.

He used to be able to reach those and flip em into right field.

Was at the game today. Darvish looked terrible for the first 4 innings. He must have been tight because he kept trying to pull his shoulder blades back. He got loose in the 5th and had much better form.

Amarista looks like a midget. A little late on his swings against Darvish but puts the ball in play and looks like a good fielder too.

Petco is huge with those 400 foot power alleys. Good fly ball pitcher park.

Was thinking about catching the Angel-Giant game too but it was already in the bottom of the 5th as I passed the stadium going home.

Was on family vacation week and half ago @ Disneyland and met a young couple Ranger fans on their honeymoon who had attended the games in Anaheim and were on their way to SF to watch the entire series up there before heading back to Texas. There were lots of Ranger fans at Petco throughout the series so you were in good company.

Seeing more Rangers fans at away games than I ever recall seeing in the past. Looks like the weekend series with the Rockies will be near sell outs as only a few thousand seats are unsold for each game according to the Dallas newspaper. Winning is cool and fun.

I was amazed how many Ranger fans were there cheering and were wearing shirts. I was in the 8th row between third and the outfield grass and a lot of Japanese fans were there trying to get Yu's attention as he walked off the mound each inning.

I was sitting about 15 rows up mid-way down the left field line. Decent seats but with only 23k in attendance decided to move in the middle innings to some sun and warmth on the 1st base side right behind the Rangers bullpen. Yu was stretching out his shoulders alot early but ended up throwing 120 pitches and looked stronger as game wore on. Padres just aren't very good at all with the bats.

Not every player is on the team because of his bat. You have to have players who play defense too which is the maicn reason TY and Gonzo are on the.roster

Noticed the chill come on when the shade started but the temps stabilized. I think the Rangers got a break when they pulled Bass out after 60 pitches with shoulder inflamation. He was throwing very well. Don't know why Black came out to argue the stolen base at third, although I was closer to the play than he was. Headley didn't say much either.

YT and "defense" used in the same sentence? Wow!

Pitchers say he's doing a much better job of calling games this year, and he's always been above average at throwing out runners

His weakness has always been blocking balls in the dirt

I'll take that out of a backup

Replay shows the ump made the right call that Kinsler was safe ... but it was about as close as it could possibly be and Wash would have had a hard time arguing if the call had gone against TEX. I'm talking about a whisker ... Kinsler's finger tips got to the base maybe a half an inch before he was tagged.

Kinsler's aggressiveness ... walk ... 2 steals ... score on a fly ball ... won the game. How frustrating for SDP is that! Power TEX wins it by stealing it.

You have to love the versatility of this team.
