TAG talking about Cano being such a homer threat...out of NYC his power has been sapped. His ISO is .139 a career low.

Zack Segovia was bombed last night pitching for RR. I remember him years ago for Forney where he was one of the top pitchers and hitter in the DFW area.

DMN:

In a matter of importance to the Texas Rangers, right-hander Phil Bickford left the Cal State Fullerton baseball program on Monday and will make himself eligible for the 2015 draft.

Toronto selected Bickford out of Westlake, Ca., Oaks Christian High School with the 10th overall pick in the 2013 draft but failed to sign him. Bickford will either attend a junior college or sign with an independent-league team. In either case, he would be eligible for next summer’s draft.

This is important to the Rangers, who are in the running for the first overall pick. Bickford, according to scouts, is a top-5 picks talent and will be a candidate to be the first player selected if he continues to progress and remains healthy.

Bickford is a power pitcher whose secondary pitches need refinement. He started at Fullerton last season but worked as a reliever this summer in the Cape Cod League. AS a reliever, Bickford showed a consistent 95-mph fastball.

Does this mean Telis is Mikolas' personal catcher?

So Calvin Watkins doesn't understand the DL.

Instead of electing to go on the DL, he probably should have asked for some rest -- because the Rangers would have given it to him. General manager Jon Daniels made the correct call in sitting Darvish, but perhaps the ace should have delayed the DL process a little bit.

Darvish most likely would miss two to three starts before being asked to do anything. If he was still having issues, then he would have been placed on the DL.

Darvish going on the shelf without waiting to see how he felt after a little time off raises some questions and some perception issues.

They need to hire a baseball writer to replace Richard with and not call on guys who only know other sports to write about baseball. I was embarrassed for Calvin.

I truly am too. He is so out of his element. He is bad enough when he write for the Cowboys and sometimes the Mavericks. He is a pot stirring kind of writer and writes endless Romo click bait articles a year and it gets a lot of traffic to the site. He's trying to do the same garbage here with the Rangers, but he's so out of touch with baseball as a sport he makes zero sense in his ramblings.

I wish I knew who to write an email to st ESPN and ask them to honor Richard's memory by hiring a competent person to cover baseball on their blog.
