Ya, but if you look at the 8 other risks we have coming back, we might as well. Either be all in, or not. Don't have a sure thing short stop and then a team full of question marks around him lol..

Plus, Profar really couldnt do much WORSE than EA. I'm sure he'd have more power. Speed isn't different. IDK how he'd do average wise, but profar has really really good hands to

Speed is different, and profar is not a stolen base that

I truly think that is a reasonable package for EA. If we were offered that then we need to fuckin POUNCE.

He literally mentioned exactly what mlbtr's been saying. JD is listening on anyone not named yu. Didn't mention beltre, but i doubt he goes. He says that rios is likely gone and soria is a sure thing, but hasn't said a word about EA.

If that offer is available for EA (which i think is very realistic, especially with this SS market) you gotta take that imo. Two great arms and almost a 5 tool prospect.

The Angels just continue to trade their already depleted system.[/

As long as they have something someone else will take I guess it isn't that depleted, getting Huston Street is big for them and it's too bad cause I like the guy a lot and now he's an enemy

watch oakland pick uggla off waivers and he becomes a hall of famer. seriously, thats the type of luck they have.

Substitute the word drugs for luck and you're spot-on.

Josh Donaldson with another walk-off HR tonight. Yet another in the long line of .230 hitters putting up career power numbers in Oakland. Statistically, no team gets more of its run production from HR's than Oakland does, all while playing 81 games a season in a pitcher's park. Not one single everyday hitter in their lineup is hitting above .300, they are a middle-of-the-pack team when it comes to avg with RISP, yet they lead the majors in runs scored. Makes perfect sense.

From Keith Law:

Aiken himself was also a victim, as much of ill fortune as anything else. Aiken had agreed to a $6.5 million bonus from the Astros, but his physical revealed an irregularity in his elbow that spooked the team and caused a rift between the two sides that no one was able to bridge. He doesn't have a torn ligament or require Tommy John surgery. The ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow is, apparently, less than normal -- thinner or shorter, not absent like R.A. Dickey's but not full strength like those of most pitchers. That might be a long-term concern, but we have no examples of pitchers who've had this issue, and Aiken's response to any such questions would have been to point out that he's healthy and throwing 97 miles per hour. When one side says the pitcher is broken and the other says he's not, there's no middle ground, and the current draft system is ill equipped to handle a situation like this, regardless of where the player was drafted.

They decided the issue was serious enough that they didn't feel immediately comfortable offering him more than the 40 percent mandated by the CBA to ensure they'd receive a compensatory pick in 2015 if Aiken didn't sign. That discovery, however, changed the calculus on the deal they had in place with Nix: If Aiken didn't agree to sign for a reduced figure, they couldn't sign Nix without surrendering their top two draft picks in 2015 as a penalty for exceeding their bonus pool figure for this year. No player in this entire draft class was worth surrendering a first-round pick and a second-round pick next year. At that point, the Astros were boxed in by rules they likely never imagined would affect them in this draft.

This is a very interesting and convoluted article in ESPN Insider. I'll post the entire article, since I don't think it's too long, if anyone is interested.

He will live another day. And it looks like LAA got it's closer.

@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: #Angels close to acquiring Street, as first reported by @JimBowdenESPNxm. Class AAA 2B Taylor Lindsey expected to head to #Padres.

If this is all San Diego is getting for Street they need to fire their GM. Street has become a very good closer. The price for Soria just went up for Detroit.

I see they received three other prospects as well.

It is looking like Alexi Ogando may be done for the year with right elbow inflammation. More than six weeks after he was placed on the disabled list, Ogando still has not begun throwing. General manager Jon Daniels acknowledged on Friday that it is becoming less likely that Ogando, who has been to the DL four times in the last 1 ½ seasons, will pitch again this season. When he was placed on the DL, the Rangers indicated they did not think surgery would be necessary to repair the damage to Ogando’s elbow. There has been no indication that the club’s posture on surgery has changed.

He is scheduled to undergo another MRI before the end of July, but won’t start throwing until after that – at the earliest.

There's no point in trying to get him back this year. With enough rest and rehab maybe he can pitch again next year.

:agree:.............No upside whatsoever to force feed his recovery - if there is one in the offing - so, let's just rest/rehab and hope for the best.

I sincerely appreciate you - not Yu - let us know this. I was working outside and had no intention of taking a break until 2 ish, except for some water I'm having now.

Thanks Rangerman

Glad to be of service. Too early for me. Too much to do, may miss a few innings. Wasn't counting on this. Noon game tomorrow too I noticed.

Of course we win and it was a game I couldn't even start to watch. I try to start watching whatever games I can, if it gets ugly, I bow out.

So, I can't watch today either...if we win again, I'll only peek in tommorow
