I only read bits and pieces of Aiken and the Astros but was the Astros deal they wanted to reduce the dollar amount because he has something different with his pitching arm than what is considered normal. And the Aiken camp was very upset about this.

Houston is purposely low balling him in hopes that he will refuse to sign so they can have the first and second picks next year.

They are making some excuse about his elbow the issue, but really they needed 1.5 million to sign another prospect so they changed their offer that Aiken previously agreed to when drafted.
