Good....couldn't figure why we were differing pages today.

Now Lewis is through 3 with 71 pitches. Not sure how much longer we can continue to let this happen.

And it doesn't matter if he doesn't give up runs in the long run. If he can only go 4/5 per outing, he'll contribute to the devastation of the BP. And Lord knows, we've got other problems in our rotation besides Lewis. But at least, some of those problems are younger one's and have upside.

Not giving up runs does matter, I'd rather him give up none over 5 than give up 5 over 5, either way the bullpen gets used up...since that was your reasoning to start with

Martin is fucking clueless and just refuses to change. I love his talent but I'm just not sure I see him working out long term.

Forgive my language: But did that mother-fucking Martin swing at one strike in that AB?

If he improves his defense in CF, and stays around a .700 OPS or higher then he's a good player to have, even if he doesn't grow much as a hitter going forward

Sure he is, if he's batting 9th.

Martin is becoming predictable. Even JPA had a better AB.

Well of course I'd rather he not give up runs. Give me a little credit hoss. It was not my reasoning to start with.

My point is, if he can't go beyond 4 or 5 innings, in the long run it won't matter so much b/c our BP will have to go 3/4 every night. And we both/all know any BP which is asked to do this is doomed to failure. Meaning, the runs are going to come regardless if Lewis goes his 4 2/3 with none, or 4 2/3 with 3/4.

Agreed, but lineups are made by the manager, just bc wash keeps putting him in bad spots in the lineup, doesn't change who Martin is as a player

Solid defense with a plus arm

Good baserunner

Low OBP with little plate discipline but a little pop for an average cf,

Adds up to a 2-3 war player in cf, I'll take that

That makes absolutely no sense, moving on

Well everyone here knows my feelings on wash so I won't go there. I will say its sad when the gm has to idiot proof the roster for the manager.

At this rate, if he goes 5 with 2 runs allowed, it's a plus and I'll take it, now if only the offense could do something

I wouldn't count on the latter.

Choo clearly not himself. Think he's gotten himself in a rut. This whole team just needs to hit the reset button.

Elvis is starting to piss me off. It's like he doesn't trust/want to play with Odor.

Lewis yelling at Rasmus to swing the bat. Good for him. This team needs a fire lit under them.

Like I said, once one of adduci or Berne comes back, you might see choo hit the dl for the minimum 15 days to get healthy and get his mind right, I'd like to see a couple rehab games to feast on some young pitching and get his swing right
