It seemed every weak ground ball TOR hit today found a hole. NT did get a lot of ground balls today, but I still don't see him as the answer for a rotation spot next year.
How's Frisco and Round Rock doing? Notice RR is tied at 2 in the 7th. Jackson pitching that game?

i would have say Daniels. he and nolan got into a pissing contest because Nolan saw the weakness of our pitching staff and wanted the Rangers to consider bringing in one or two quality SP's. he also was opposed to the Kiinsler/Fielder trade preferring to keep Kinsler and bring in at least 2 Free Agent bats (one of them being a 1st baseman).

but Washington will be the one who pays the price sometime in the next 3 months

Nolan didn't believe either would be back but Daniels put all his faith in them and even when Holland went down in January Daniels refused to consider that we were in trouble

These don't look like opinions to me.

I think his thoughts about the conflict and differing of opinion between Nolan/JD are facts. This was widely discussed here.

But I thought the one sentence about RW paying the price seemed to be a stand-alone and not necessarily attached to his overall point of him holding JD more responsible than Nolan or RW.

But like I said, Scotty has gone to bed and we'll check tomorrow.

If it is indeed a quote, I'm quite curious to the source as well.

I'm calling it an evening too gentleman. Have a good one, and one of ya get us a thread going for the Yanks please.

Frisco won 3-2. Someone nobody really talks about is Alex Claudio. He just keeps getting people out. He went 6 tonight and gave up 2 ER. His ERA on the year between MB and Frisco is 1.30.

Irwin started for the Express. 5.2 IP, 7 H, 2 ER.
Adduci with 2 more hits tonight and has his AVG up to .296. Tomas Telis who I mentioned last night is also 2-4, and is batting .307 on the year between both levels. .429 in 2 games with the Express.

The game is tied 2-2 still.

Obviously there were some differing opinions between the two, but he gets pretty specific about that and I've never seen anything to back that up.

If any of you guys want an easy way to check on all Rangers affiliates you can get the MiLB app on your phone. It's really easy to check on all the games in the lower levels. It's a free app. Once you download it you hit the down arrow at the top next to the team name and it shows you all of the Ranger affiliates.

I went to MiLB.com before I posted you, Justin. Kinda hard to navigate on my iPad. I basically just got the scores. I'll try getting the apps.

I've never tried MiLB on the computer. It's simple on my IPhone. If I check them on the computer I just go to the actual team websites. Sometimes I watch the gamecast.

I hope you know I wasn't being rude. I just wanted to let everyone know an easy way to check on the youngsters.

BTW...Gallo 0-4 with 3 K's.

The Astros have a perception problem, Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle writes. The Astros missed out on top overall pick Brady Aiken and another top pick, Jacob Nix, because of a disagreement about Aiken’s health. During part of the time they might have been negotiating with Aiken, Drellich points out, GM Jeff Luhnow was on vacation with his family in Mexico. That might not have had any bearing on their ability to sign Aiken, Drellich notes, but it doesn’t look good, and the Astros generally don’t get the “benefit of the doubt” with such matters.
Drellich also takes a close look at each party’s motivations as the Astros and Aiken tried to negotiate. He points out that, if Aiken goes to junior college and reenters the draft next year, it will be hard for Aiken to top the $5MM the Astros offered, given that the Astros themselves will have the No. 2 overall pick as a result of losing him, along with their own standard first-round pick, which will also be one of the early ones. For a player to get $5MM is very difficult under the new bonus pool system, especially with the Astros taking two very early picks.

So HOU still gets the #2 pick no matter what plus their own 1st round pick depending on how bad they finish? That seems ridiculous.

No problem. Downloaded the app but none for the iPad which is a bother since I'm on it more than my iPhone.
