Yesterday someone asked Evan Grant this:
"Did the DFW Media ask Bochy if he’s considering a change at leadoff?"
To which, Evan replied:
"I would expect Bochy would give Semien at least a month before he considers any changes. Semien is ALWAYS a slow starter. But you never say never."
That prompted me to say,
"No, Semien is not always a slow starter. He might start slow when he has a bad year, but in 2023, he did not start slow. In his first 18 games in 2023, he hit .293 with an OPS of .848. He has bad years, which include bad starts."
I get a little tired of the media protecting certain guys and being carelessly inaccurate when they do.
