Personal note. I am pursuing semi retirement job permitting
Don’t know if I shared but I have been diagnosed a couple years ago with a slow burn cancer called CLL but my health has been fine the last few years other than getting tired more easily which to me is normal
Basically a blood disorder

Probably should pray for you guys more but this is a great site for diversion and a lifelong hobby called Ranger baseball
It is good to discuss civilly which I can always improve upon

Hoping for many years ahead and the prognosis is very encouraging so likely many years ahead
Prayed for you right now.

I remember her and Romeo were upset at me for wanting the Rangers to move Kinsler to the OF so Profar could take over at 2B. Lol
I dont think Wash wantrmed Kins to move so KD traded him

Blame Prince on Wash.

I had a solid cancer diagnosed 17 years ago and am ok now. We’re both in a club that nobody wants to be a member of.

Obtaining a semi-retirement job would be great. Good luck on managing the CLL and hoping for decades ahead for yourself enjoying Rangers baseball.

Some players do better in a long-relief role due to their endurance not being able to stand up to six or seven-inning starts, and given Teodo made 20 appearances in 2024 (19 starts) with 86.1 innings pitched, he was only really going about four innings plus an out or two.

From Evan Grant:

Leiter, on the IL since he ripped open a blister on his right middle finger at Cincinnati on April 2, threw a brief 10-15 pitch bullpen Friday without a band-aid to protect what had previously been sensitive skin.

And then he took on the toughest part of his recovery: Trying to discuss the progress of the blister recovery.

“It feels like a finger again,” Leiter said. “It feels like it’s in a good spot. I was able to just get out there a little and test and get some friction on it. The next one will be more intense.”

Leiter threw a 35-pitch bullpen on Tuesday in Chicago, though with a band-aid covering the area. On Sunday, he’s expected to ramp up his his intensity without the band-aid.

Leiter is eligible to be reinstated from the IL on April 18 when the Rangers face the Los Angeles Dodgers. Leiter’s original spot in the rotation, following Nathan Eovaldi, would be due up again on April 20.

I don't think those innings per start is that uncommon for young starters in the minors. They baby them a lot and they tend to need more pitches per inning.

When Leiter was 23 years old he made 19 starts and worked 81 innings, so that was a little less per start than Teodo.

The year before Bradford came up he got 26 starts and only logged 118 innings.

Rocker logged 64 innings in the minors in 15 starts.

I would imagine it is extremely rare these days for a yong starter in AA or below to average 6 plus innings per start.

I guess Mitch Bratt wanted to show that a AA pitcher can go 6 innings. Lol
