Overall the A's pitching ranks 26th in ERA, but their three starters in this series all have respectable ERAs. It will be interesting to see if the Ranger offense can perform markedly better in this series, than they have been.

We will have Corbin, Rocker, and deGrom pitching in this series. Hopefully, we can win 2 out of 3.

This may be Corbin's last start if we can keep everyone healthy. Leiter pitches tonight for Round Rock.

Last year after his first 18 games, Nathaniel Lowe had an OPS of .943. He does have hot streaks. The problem is that he also has extended cold streaks during the season. Let's see in 5 more months, between him and Burger, who has the best season.

Quote of the Day: "If they can change their offensive approach and get the bats going, they will be fine. But if they can't make adjustments, they don't deserve to make the playoffs".

Some attribute part of the hitting as we have faced each teams best pitching

Will Marcus change his approach?

Thinking we may see some adjustments to the lineup this evening

I feel like we have been living on borrowed time with Corbin. Keep expecting him to implode.

That may be part of what has made the slump close to historic levels. We have struggled against some of the mediocre pitchers as well.

would like to see Crim and Foscue in the lineup but we'd have to cut someone to get Crim into the 40 and then we'd have to send 2 down or put them on the IL to bring Crim and Foscue up. the first is easy DFA Ornelas but the second half would be difficult. and then Bochey would have to actually play them and we know he wont

Is his problem approach or age?
Probably both. He is pull happy and not willing to adjust.
He does not get into play balls in the middle and upper zone either fouling or missing altogether

I think he should become more a contact player and sacrifice some power

Martin Perez may miss the rest of the year with elbow inflammation.

Sounds so weird to be saying we are traveling to Sacramento to face the A's.

Here’s hoping they bust out of slump.
We have been playing lots of good teams, and are still in first place.
I’m thinking the records of the teams on our schedule so far would be over .500 for sure.
Things will even out.
We need to remain competitive in first half, second half we should surge.
This is as good a pitching staff as we have had in a long time.
These hitters have a track record, just need to have average years

I saw someone comment on a YouTube video that the Rangers put out with Sandler, that they should put Smith leading off with Wyatt hitting second. Of course some know it all had to tell them how little they knew about baseball to suggest that. Then that is exactly what they did. Lol
