No More "Bullpen Failure"
Bradford's BB/9 is 2.5It would depend more on whom they’re considering bringing up than whom they would move to the pen. I never got the impression that either Bochy and Maddux had faith in Bradford’ control or how long he would last in an appearance. Watching them during his appearances they were talking the whole time and they were quick to get others up in the pen.
Heaney's BB/9 is 3.6
Bradford's ability to go deep was hampered by him going so long between starts. Even at that, he went 5 in most of his starts. Heaney has made it through the 6th inning only once since May.
If both were allowed to start on a regular basis it would be easy to expect Bradford to easily match Heaney's innings, and most likely he would exceed Heaney's innings. All the while, he would walk less hitters than Heaney would. That is, those things could be expected based on their numbers.
