Yates!
If something is wrong with him he needs to be on the IL till he gets right. He definitely doesn’t need to be competing at the all star game.He has not seemed right in awhile
And he has the 19th best OPS in MLB.From Jared Sandler:
Josh Smith isn’t an All-Star despite slashing .293/.392/.469/.861.
He has the 16th best BA in MLB and the 9th best OBP.
Among AL 3B, his BA ranks 2nd, his OBP ranks 1st, his OPS ranks 2nd.
He's been this team's best player so far this year.
STREAK EXTENDERS
Corey Seager extended his on-base streak to 18 straight games, longest active streak in MLB.
Kirby Yates has now converted 20 straight save chances (dating back to last year), the longest active streak in MLB.
1st inning: 2 runs, 2 hitsOffense continues to slump.
Seager on May 2 was hitting 219 with 2 HRs so the fact he is up to 270 with 18 HRs is pretty good. He had a much worse year 2 years ago.Wyatt is 0 for his last 19......at some point I feel like it cant be all not he players, as Smith is the only one that seems to have much success this year. Occasionally Seager but he's great hitter for his career. He should have good spells even in a down year but man.....
Maybe if Corea does not playNot an All Star, though.
This morning I said this: "Houston should be favored in this game today with Blanco pitching. But hoping for a miraculous win." I guess that was the "miraculous win" part I was hoping for.1st inning: 2 runs, 2 hits
2nd -7th innings: 0 runs, 0 hits, 3 walks
8th inning: 2 runs, 1 hit, 1 walk
9th inning: 0 runs, 0 hits
odds of winning a game with those stats: 2%
4 games out of 1st in the loss column.Mariners lose. Crouse gets the win.
Progress4 games out of 1st in the loss column.
That is doable if we swing the bats but we can't rely on Smith like today.3 games with Orioles right after the break followed by White Sox and Blue Jays who are both out of it.
Need 2 of 3 vs Orioles. Will be facing Burnes, Suarez, and Rodriguez so that's a tall task.
