Why didn't Perez pitch the 8th inning and then have Bush for the 9th? What is wrong with a starter going up to and past 100 pitches? I understood this in April, but not so much in June.

He'd had some pretty high stress innings, we're lucky he finished 7

As we know most likely Fielder bats every game regardless the pitcher.

Just running the numbers

This recent "surge" has more than likely forced Fielder into the lineup at the expense of far more deserving candidates for the next couple weeks

Here's the deal I make, you go 2 games in a row without a certain number of quality ABs, then you sit, doesn't matter who, it would give them all something to think about

Hate to say it, but the Jays have been doing much better as of late. I'd rather see them not make the playoffs at all.

If you worried as much about the Rangers as you do about other teams you might contribute more quality posts on a consistent basis.

The only Rangers business he concerns himself with is Moreland, I think Mitch owes him money or fooled around with his mom/sister/wife/GF

Ebbs and flows, teams go on winning and losing streaks. We shall revisit closer to playoff time, but regardless whichever teams make the playoffs they are good teams for the most part. Have to beat good teams to get where we want to be and win a WS

Grieve also made that comment in the series after we played the Jays. They have a manager that encourages their complaining and attitude.

Banister should have whipped his ass

Could help rotating guys in and out? Something will ultimately give and guys will get more playing time. Too many factors not to...... i.e. injuries, possibly trades, slumps etc.

I just think the mindset that 90 is enough will tax the pen.

I think if you saw him pitch last night you'd be perfectly satisfied with his 7 innings. He'd been trying to come off the tracks all night.

I like the idea of moving Moreland to pick up a bullpen piece and maybe something else. You may have to get a third team involved, but it should be doable.

That would be fine if there had been someone other than Claudio to use eventually. Isn't a struggling Martin better than Claudio most of the time?

I mentioned this earlier. Also it protects Rua.

Banny didn't have to use Claudio. Tolley and Barnette were both a better choice to get three outs. Perez was not going to get it done in any case imo. Bush had been over used already.

Barnette was in the pen as well. Nonetheless, any MLB pitcher ought be able to get three outs with a 6 fucking run lead. That's not on Banister. It's on Claudio.

Tolley pitched two innings the night before.

Well if he's on the verge of imploding like he was in the 6th last night, then you're lucky you get 7, I agree if he's cruising along and has 90 pitches through the 7th but that's not the way last night broke down
