Midland is playing Frisco on FSSW. 4th inning 2-2.

Griffin started the game, had 3 Ks and 2 W but apparently looked pretty good (according to the announcers).

As stated above, I'd sit Fielder if I were the manager
JTA, your problem is you're making to much sense. Some good observations imo.

Cordell just hit his 2nd homer of the day (believe that's 12 for the year).

3-3 in the 5th

That is good to see. He has been struggling the last few games. He is the one Tepid was referring to in that tweet I posted where he said he likes to see prospects struggle to see how they can pull themselves out of it.

Dyson's .98 WHIP this season says you're wrong.

I think that is skewed by his early season success. In the month of june he has 6IP's, 6H, 1BB, and 2ER.

Those aren't bad stats. Just doesn't instill confidence that he can come in and put three batters in the ground.

I hear ya.

But your earlier comment on DFAing Tolleson is way off. Wilhelmsen should be gone today. And I'm not at all kidding. He shouldn't be in Oakland tonight.

Very good point by Tepid too.

Then you're basing your opinion on small sample size based on Recency bias. Not really reliable.

Do you even watch him pitch? he's easily our most consistent and reliable reliever, you can believe in Diekman all you want, he has the numbers, sure, but if you actually watch him pitch, then you're just waiting for the implosion

Dyson's lesser numbers probably come from the fact that he's been run into the ground in the early going, he's our most used reliever by far

Wilhelmsen and Tolleson can each disappear to AAA for the rest of the year as far as I'm concerned, DFA is harsh to me unless the spot is REALLY needed

I agree on Wil, and am just fed up with Tolly. He has got to be hurt, otherwise he just lost his spine/brain to get out there. it's one of the quickest falls I've seen since Salty got the yips.

I'll grant you it isn't based in anything other than what I see now. Trendlines are my thing, and his is pointed down right now. I care less what someone did two months ago or two year ago, show me what you have right here-right now.

I'd say it has more to do with being run into the ground. If he ever gets a few days off, you'll see.

It sure would be terrific if Tolley could revert back to his 1st half last season form wouldn't it?

Then, get Kela back and healthy and things in the pen look a lot brighter.

If that's going to happen Tolleson needs to be sent to round rock to fix his change up. It's what made his super straight fastball effective.

Jered Eickhoff killing it in Philly. Hamels has been good, but I wonder how that deal is going to look in a couple years.

If we win a WS over the next 2 years no one will care less what Eickhoff accomplishes in Philly IMO.

I say 2 years b/c that is our "Darvish window" again, IMO.

As is usually the case, you gotta give up something good to get something good. I'm fine with the trade, Rangers will probably have a good chance to re-sign Hamels.
