As is usually the case, you gotta give up something good to get something good. I'm fine with the trade, Rangers will probably have a good chance to re-sign Hamels.

I'm fine with the trade as well....But the resigning of Hamels I'm not so sure about.

Hamels will be 33/34 in 2019 when he could be gone. And, he's got over 2100 innings on that arm already.

My thought process was that he's getting up there in age, he probably has a family by now and I know he wanted to get traded here. It's probably not about the money for him anymore, I bet he would take a Beltre type deal.
