Well the Rangers got to scout Santana and some decent relief pitchers tonight.

I don't know about you guys but I am glad that Cuban never became a part of the ownership team of the Rangers. I just feel he has that team spinning its wheels.

Could it be his ego or personality that turns FA's off, from coming to Dallas? I am very glad he's not involved with the Rangers. As a matter of fact I'm very happy with everything that has transpired w the Rangers since Hicks has been gone, aside from the one injury plagued year in 2014

Good point on the relief pitchers specifically.
I mentioned to my 11 yr old son the Rangers might trade for one of the Twins relievers. He said they should wait to see how they do against other teams. :-) Smart boy. My baseball buddy.

Yes there were too many Yankees on base in his last start. Could have been much worse.

Im looking for improvement. Hoping 1st start this season, nerves, Yankee stadium, yadda yadda yadda and all that had something to do with his last outing

Nice, my son will be 6 this month and he's just getting into all the baseball stuff that Dad is so maniacal about.

Ive always liked Santana, though he has had some clunkers but also the no hitter vs Cleveland. I wanted him in FA a couple times but never wanted the price tag

Good man. Coach pitch/machine pitch was fun coaching and watching the kiddos have fun. Now in 12U the parents tend to be too intense. Had to talk to two parents this year for being too hard on their kiddos during the games.

But I think he was very interested in having a part in the Rangers. He had also looked into the Cubs and the Dodgers as well but their price was too high.

I follow the money trail. He wanted people to think he cared about owning the Rangers, so the price would go up and he would make more money off the debt. He hedged his bet perfectly.

Ive coached LL for several years and his teams both seasons and I have had to have conversations with parents many times about being to hard on their kiddos. It has to be fun for them or they won't enjoy it near as much, and likely quit on you. Everyone has aspirations for their children but its a pipe dream really, to think your child will be grossly successful playing baseball.

I have a funny meme somewhere that shows 2 kids about 5 years old, where one kid says to the other kid "Is that your dad yelling at you from the stands again"? The other responds " yeah he thinks I'm going Pro next year". Funny stuff!

Not having a salary cap may have made a big difference in how the baseball team fared under his ownership vs. how the Mavericks have fared.

To be fair though Cuban has a championship under his belt and that is something no Ranger owner has ever been able to say to this point.

Hopefully it wont be long before Rangers ownership can say that

He has a terrible track record of wooing free agents. He can stay the hell out of baseball.
