I tend to look at the combined 6 game playoff losing streak to the hated jays over those 2 seasons. JD also helped banny by going all in both years pretty much. Those rosters should‘ve produced some playoff success and we got not nothing.

I think woody is a much better manager than banny was. Banny couldn’t manage a bullpen, sat guys when they were hot, and gave way too many good players the day off on getaway games simultaneously where it pretty much tanked our chances to win.

He had a chance to win the one series but he blew it, if he would have played the matchup instead of what he thought got him there they might have advanced. But he didn't so they didn't...

The Jays had a totally RHed lineup at that time and the Rangers were up 2-0 basically because of their RHed pitching, the only LHed pitcher that fared well against the Jays that series was Diekman. I opined at the time to another guy who used to post here (passed away because of cancer) that if Banny had played more to the matchups (RHP vs RHed lineup) they could have won that series. But instead Banny trotted out Hamels, Perez and Holland and that was the end of that, the Jays feasted on those LHers and the series and season was over...

I've had the pleasure of listening to the radio broadcast tonight and they talked about Ibanez a bit. Basically all he brings to the table is his bat, and according to Woodward, he rates the best on the team against every type of pitch.

Hamels pitched well enough to win. That loss was on Elvis.
