F the Houston Astros
The lineup seems to roll with Roogie hitting second. So Banny puts Choo back in there.
Has to fuck up whatever is working, for the sake of making a change it appears

If we are waiting on guys from the farm to get significantly over 20 HRs we well may be waiting until 2017 for Gallo and maybe 2018 for Mazara. Gallo could hit 30 next year if he was ready to come up here out of ST, but I am not sure that that will be the case. That is why I found the Chris Davis talk intriguing earlier today. His 35-45 would replace Moreland's 20 plus. We would still need an upgrade in RF with someone with a good deal more power than Choo to have the offense we need to go to a WS.A couple 20 HR guys won't get it done in terms of production for a team, over a season. JD better hope Gallo gets ready soon
I think that happens after Derek gets 2 more starts in his rehab assignment. Unless Chi Chi looks good tomorrow and then they may switch him out with Martinez. Can we please stop running Martinez out there?
Sano hits .176 vs. LHP and .306 vs. RHP. Diekman was the right call going purely by the numbers.

It really should be a no brainer with Odor's speed. The lineup seems to roll with Roogie hitting second. So Banny puts Choo back in there.
I was not all for that but 11-1 may have changed my mind. We did win the last 2 starts from Martinez but not seeing him in our future right now.I think that happens after Derek gets 2 more starts in his rehab assignment. One thing being lost in translation because of the 11-1 score is how bad our offense has been on the road. If not for the 8 run 11th inning we have scored 3-3-2-2-1.
That has been a problem for us the past three seasons now. We have way too many games where we score 3 runs or less. I started paying attention to that aspect a couple of years ago when I complained about our offense on the espn board and someone pointed out that our total runs scored wasn't very bad compared to other teams. When I looked at it further I found we would score a whole lot of runs in a few games and that skewed the results. Two years ago only the lowly Astros scored 3 runs or less more often in the American League than we did. I never looked last year after the season to see how we compared, but I am almost certain that we led the league in that category last year. We had a total of 92 games last season where we scored 3 runs or less. One thing being lost in translation because of the 11-1 score is how bad our offense has been on the road. Have you tried staying at a Holiday Inn?

So far this year we have scored 3 runs or less in 54 games and that puts on the pace for 72 for the season. Two years ago when we led everyone in the league with the exception of the Astros we did that 74 times. So we are still a bad offensive team even with an offense that has had very good health overall this year.
We can go out and acquire a lot of good to great pitching and we will still lose a lot of games when our offense is this bad.
I think he will now that his contract will be up. At least that is what I am hoping for.Magadan needs to go, but I doubt he's going anywhere.
The two starters today, Gonzalez and Santana, in their last 3 starts, both have ERAs over 10. Yikes
Hopefully chi chi for something figured out in round rock.
