Not much to fret over with IKF. The kid can play
A game with good hitting and pitching? What sort of devilry is this?
The biggest question about him was will he be able to hit, just like a lot of other players...Not much to fret over with IKF. The kid can play
That's today's game like it or not, lots of SOs and HRs, you're either a hero or a zero...Rangers K pace puts them at 1782 K's for the season, which would shatter the existing record of 1595.
Still like the old way better. That's today's game like it or not, lots of SOs and HRs, you're either a hero or a zero...
Just think how long the games would be if it were played the old way with rally's, small ball, bunting, stealing bases, then people would be whining that a more entertaining game was taking too long
All that being said Gibson had another good game yesterday, didn't try to overpower the Rays just get them to hit the ball where a defender was and get off the mound back into the dugout
Ever since they moved Lowe to the 5 hole he's disappeared, 1 hit in 6 games...
Question is.....do we have owners and FO staff that know how to correctly rebuild? I think not at present. The Rangers strike out a lot because we don't have a very good team offensively.
There is only one AL team that has scored less runs per game than the Rangers.
There is only one AL team that has more strikeouts per game than us.
There are only 3 AL teams with less hits per game than us.
There is only one AL team with less walks per game than us.
There is only one AL team with less HR per game than us.
There are only 3 AL teams with less doubles per game than us.
We are not just part of some trend. We are bad, very bad.
If we rebuild correctly, we will have very few, if any, of these current starters, in the starting lineup for us in 2024.

So is this because they're bad or because they ran into hot teams/pitchers???The Rangers strike out a lot because we don't have a very good team offensively.

I will have to disagree with this part of your response to a great degree.Putting stock in the first 20-30 games of the season is like putting stock into someone who hit .400 in ST
Our offense will do better against bad pitchers. I stated that previously. So is this because they're bad or because they ran into hot teams/pitchers???
Putting stock in the first 20-30 games of the season is like putting stock into someone who hit .400 in ST, things usually change. Cream rises water sinks. eventually...

Lets see latest team to start off like a house on fire was Seattle a couple of years ago and ended up sucking badly as was predicted for them before the season began...I will have to disagree with this part of your response to a great degree.
Maybe but all the pitchers that have tamed them so far have never been close to being an ace, only on a hot streak right now and will return to their normal mid 4s ERA...Our offense will do better against bad pitchers. I stated that previously.
You and a whole lot of other people hope this is true...The situation is not too concerning to me because most of these guys will not be starting 2 to 3 years down the line as guys like Jung, Huff, Seise, Foscue, Wendzel, Apostle, Carter and Walker move up and as we sign 2 or 3 free agents.
You are already seeing it to a certain degree with the pitching staff, 2 gone for the year and maybe 3 when they get a better read on Bush...Imagine how bad things could get if we lose someone, who is actually doing well, to a long term injury.
The subject is hitting though. Hitting .400 in ST, as you mentioned, is a whole lot different than doing it in the regular season for 20 to 30 games. There are lots of pitchers in ST games who will never see the big leagues. There are also, lots of big league pitchers working on certain pitches in ST and are much less concerned with giving up hits.Lets see latest team to start off like a house on fire was Seattle a couple of years ago and ended up sucking badly as was predicted for them before the season began...
And you don't need to look any further than Rougie for a ST wonder...
