Not on Marco at all. Only 2 of the runs were earned. 3 errors, with 2 in the same inning lead to that collapse.
Yes, Marco could have still gotten them out of it despite the piss poor play behind him, but it's not fair to put it on him tonight.

Ah ok, thanks for the update ..

Well that was the game we laid an egg.

1. Hit terrible with RISP
2. too many errors in the field
3. you don't hang a 5 spot on them in 1st inning and then go cold and let them back into the game
4. Marco looked like previous seasons Marco

added note - slightly worried Julio swing and miss rate on fastballs that are in / near the strike zone.

He needs to have a decent series of collecting 4-5 hits and a HR over the span of 15 or so ab's in a single 3-4 game series to get his confidence up.

He failed to even offer at the first two strikes though. He's looking at way too many pitches.
Agree 100%

he is watching some fastballs for strikes when he needs to be swinging at THOSE pitches.

And he has an alarming swing and miss rate on sliders and I am noticing a swing and miss rate on fastballs also.

A lot going on in the kids melon no doubt. He needs to get hot for a week or so and prove to himself he belongs in the show.
It's a mental battle right now coupled with the jedi mind f*ck of the umpires bad calls every game it seems.

Such bullshit. Only half of those were actually legit strike 3s. Guess they don’t want the rookie to succeed but he will learn to protect the zone.

While all the deserved accolades went to France this week. Tom Murphy is leading the league in BA at .421... but only 1 HR, 1 RBI but a whopping 1.173 OPS. Talk about making the best of his opportunities.

More Ty France by the numbers. Since being traded to the M's he's played in 191 games with 721 ABs and hitting at an even .300. 25 dingers and 105 RBIs. An absolute stud. I admit to not knowing what Nola, Altavilla, and Adams (guys M's traded) are up to these days.

I never heard of him until we played the Padres before the trade and I remember saying during the series that he is either the luckiest hitter I have ever seen or the best unknown hitter I have ever seen. He sprayed the ball everywhere there wasn't a defender. It was awesome then we got him and it was amazing. He is my 84 year old mom's favorite player...lol.

What are your thoughts on him now? The best unknown hitter at the time? He’s been quite consistent the past 3 years.

He was the best unknown hitter prior to the trade. Yes he tore up AAA for Padres, but I guarantee you nobody outside of baseball people knew of him as the next big deal. He has become the next big deal. He is the modern day Edgar.
