Wow, this is the first place team? :tsk:

Total farce this inning. At least 3 blunders so far this inning allows a score.

Took a huge set of mistakes by Texas to get it done, but who gives a crap? They got the win in game one of the series and that's all that counts.

Great win for the M's... It's all about series and this is a series we need to win... Gaining at least 1 game is huge in this situation...

Everyone else in the division lost today except us. So there's that.

The Rangers have acquired righty reliever Justin De Fratus from the Mariners, MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan tweets. The deal completes last month’s Patrick Kivlehan trade, tweets MLB.com’s Greg Johns. The 28-year-old De Fratus was pitching for Triple-A Tacoma, where he’d posted a 3.21 ERA, 5.8 K/9 and 2.2 BB/9 in 28 innings. He has a 4.08 ERA, 7.9 K/9 and 3.6 BB/9 in five big-league seasons, all of them spent with the Phillies.

Confused... I thought that Kivlehan was the PTBNL in the Leonys Martin trade. Why are we sending them another player?

We traded back for him a couple weeks back because he was hitting under .200 (Texas put him on waivers and we worked out a deal for him). The PTBNL was then traded back to us for...PTBNL (De Fratus in this case).

After a second MRI on his strained right calf, Felix Hernandez says he will be out four to six weeks. "I talked to the doctor yesterday and he said the strain is improving,'' Hernandez told ESPN's Marly Rivera. "He has seen an improvement from the first MRI to now the second one, it is better, but he did say he wants me to rest 4-6 weeks. I have already been in the DL about 12 days, so those days are included [in the 4-6 weeks]. Before the team comes back from their next road trip I should be throwing again.''

So Kivlehan is still in our system, then?

He is back in our system as of last week.
Good. Not that he will necessarily make an impact, but it seems like he had the potential to pop as a legit ML hitter.

Agreed. And we gave up nothing to get him back.

Marte is a fucking idiot.

Sims sounded so excited about that ill-advised bunt, too.
