I know umpires have a tough job to do, so I don't blame them for occasionally blowing a call. But it's the umpires who have egos the size of the moon who think they are bigger than the game itself and who think they are untouchable who piss me off so much. MLB needs to make these clowns accountable for their actions. Suspend them for multiple games, fine them thousands of dollars, and publicly shame them for their transgressions. It's the only way this kind of shit will ever stop.

Unfortunately, I called MLB last season re: this, and was told the umpires are controlled by their union. And the contract with the union gives them autonomous authority.

If I understand right, they've created a Frankenstein monster which is allowed to roam the diamonds and pillage as they like.
