Murphy, Josh & Gentry in the OF, Cruz DH'ing, MY on the bench would be the best scenario. Profar for Ian for a few games.

Murphy and Josh both play left though. Guess Josh could go to right but I don't recall seeing him over there.

Considering Harrison was on extra rest, I agree. But I'd rather a manager have a feel for when a guy is losing it rather than rely on pitch count.

Maybe, but Harry has a tendency to pull a rabbit out of a hat, and I'm worried about our bullpen being tired in October.

Me either but both would be an upgrade over Cruz at right. His only saving grace is his arm.

Murphy can play right, but doesn't have the arm Cruz has. I would be fine with rotating the dh spot around to give different players rest while giving them at bats though.

Nice job Harry, Joey, and bats. Good way to kick off the home stand, lower that magic number!

Every time a hard ball is hit to right I get scared. I have little faith in Cruz, If Hamilton is in right in the WS last year, the Rangers have their rings right now.

Harry was only at 87 pitches. I think he went to a tired bullpen too early.

Would have given Harry the chance to get the final out in the 6th. Think Wash figured that Harry was starting to struggle with his location and just gave up back to back hits.

Yep and until we win a WS that painful memory will continue to linger

I can't help but think what if we had this year's Nathan closing last year.

Got to watch bottom of the 8th and top of 9th on TV after having to follow the rest of the game on Game Day.

What message was sent to Lowe with TEX going to Scheppers in top of the 8th with a 2 run lead (after Adams and after Uehara)?

Ron wants to see scheppers I'm high leverage situations. If scheppers continues to pitch well Lowe could very well be watching october from the clubhouse.

Could be mistaken, but it seems like Scheppers has been ahead of Lowe in the pecking order for some time now.

Last 28 days ...
Lowe line ... .333/.391/.571/.963
Sheppers line ... .308/.379/.346/.725

Scheppers could be an injury replacement for Oswalt for the 5-game first round when teams normally go with 13 position players ... and Lowe would be left off.

Lowe might get added for the second round over13th position player for the longer ALCS 7-game round where another pitcher has more potential for use.

Way I think it looks for the first round pitching staff ...
SP: Harrison, Holland, Darvish, Dempster
RP: Nathan, Adams, Uehara, Ogando, Ross, Feldman, Scheppers, Kirkman/Perez

Scheppers and Perez would have to be an injury replacements for somebody(s) already eligible

Would typically prefer Perez over Kirkman, but he's pitched better lately and I'm not sure Perez is ready for that role. Scheppers has less propensity for the long ball than Lowe which can hurt more in October than ever. Lowe can be absolutely dominant, but when he's not it's ugly.
