Sad when you get a DP grounder on a pitch head high.

You think we've got any chance of dumping Choo?
It depends on how much JD and company agree with us about Choo I think. If it was you or me we would find a way to unload him even if we had to pay a very large portion of his salary. I don't know if JD feels the same way or not. I am hoping Choo's little tirade against Banister the other night is enough to convince JD he has to go.

Well, I guess the team will be pretty well rested for tomorrow's game since they didn't play today.

That was some punk ass shit if I ever saw it. I hope JD saw all that, and gets Banny's back.

Umpire at center of Frisco managers latest explosion earns promotion | | Dallas Morning News

Ron Teague, the umpire who apparently didn’t see that the Midland catcher had dropped the ball on a play at the plate, got promoted.

Yes, promoted.

Teague was ranked as the No. 1 umpire in the Texas League based on previous evaluations. When an umpire in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League retired, Teague earned the promotion.

“He’s one of the best umpires I’ve ever had come through the Texas League,” said TL President Tom Keyser.
If he's the best, I'd hate to see the worst.

Rangers' Delino DeShields taking BP, may start rehab games soon

Rangers outfielder Delino DeShields has begun to take batting practice during his recovery from a hamstring injury, according to FOX Sports Southwest.

DeShields has been progressing well and hopes to begin a rehab assignment next week. This season, DeShields has a slash line of .269/.358/.386.

Need this kid back

Oh, I am against trading for Hamel's... anyone here in favor of that?

I mean I would get over it if they did but not if it took Alfaro and it likely would.

I've seen very little of Alfaro. But a couple of years ago the Rangers had him earmarked to be our front line catcher around 2015. Now, he's nowhere near ML ready.

And for whatever it's worth, Hitzges and the Goose were discussing how he has not progressed as a catcher and still appears to be years away.

When you are winning you know it will end but you hope not. And then when you start losing you hope you can get that winning feeling again. So lets hope the wins start back up soon. We knew when we lost Beltre, DeShields and even Hamilton plus Rua and Blanks on top of that it was going to be a struggle and for the most part hung in there.

Martin was doing well for a short time but is right back where he always is. A very good CF for the most part with a great arm but he has not grown at all in what I think is 4 or 5 years with the Rangers. What he is now is what he will always be. DeShields hurry back.

I don't recall that. I recall certain posters on ESPN expecting Alfaro to be with the big club in 2014, and I kept telling them don't expect him till 2016 at the earliest. Good chance he would've been here next season if he'd stayed healthy. Corpy was a stopgap.

He's actually not "nowhere near ready," his defense improved leaps and bounds form everything I've read this year, still doesn't walk much but would probably be an immediate improvement hitting wise over the current batch we have.

I'd say he would've made an appearance in September this year, and probably would've competed for a job next season, might still do so

I could see him splitting time at catcher next year with someone, and thats ok since he's a catcher you don't need him playing everyday anyway
