I like our pitching when healthy and good catchers are hard to find. Stand pat and go with what we have.

Indeed. I forgot that Alfaro also is out for the season, so that probably would lower interest in him anyway. Still, I'mm with you... stand pat. If we manage to make a run great, if not we go into next season looking really good.

Most of my goals for this season has already been met - Fielder came off his injury and is looking good plus our younger guys are getting some practice/preparation at the MLB level. Now I would just like to see some of SP get healthy and the BP develop.

If Perez and Holland can get back to being effective in the major league rotation, and maybe see some good stuff from some youngsters in September, then I'm peachy. Any finish with a handful of games of .500 would be nice too.

I asked Evan this earlier today, but he never answered my question. How much do you guys think we should be concerned with having such a lefty dominated lineup? Also, long term what can we do to fix that since our next two hitting prospects to come up will probably be left handed batters in Mazara and Williams? Is it even worth being concerned with?

I think it puts us at a disadvantage vs LH 's unless most of our hitters hit well vs lefties, and from why I've seen thats not the case. We have a few that hit lefties ok, not sure how Mazara or Williams do vs LH's?

That's likely going to fix itself since the outfield is going to get very crowded soon. Somebody is going to have to get traded. Lineup may look something like this in the future.

Odor
DDJ
Fielder
Hamilton
Rua
Gallo
Moreland
Alfaro
Elvis/Profar

Yes, there's some LOOGY opportunities there, but it's not bad. As Hamilton gets phased out, Mazara or Williams should be ready.

Elvis has been on a tear lately.

Back to back days off seemed to help, I expected him to have a good stretch and get the BA back up around .265 to finish the season. He's just got minimal to no power and he isn't gonna hit .285

Why the hell is Choice back up? He's a terrible freaking outfielder, as in Shin Soo Choo terrible.

Seriously, how are we so bad at fielding? We used to be among the best.

Desperate for another right handed option I guess. He'll be gone soon.

Nice to see one of those finally find some ground for Rua. He's been a bit unlucky since returning.

Probably just because he is on the 40 man and they just need someone until Choo's back gets better. It is probably only a short term thing. Hopefully.

You think we've got any chance of dumping Choo?

Umpire at center of Frisco managers latest explosion earns promotion | | Dallas Morning News

Ron Teague, the umpire who apparently didn’t see that the Midland catcher had dropped the ball on a play at the plate, got promoted.

Yes, promoted.

Teague was ranked as the No. 1 umpire in the Texas League based on previous evaluations. When an umpire in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League retired, Teague earned the promotion.

“He’s one of the best umpires I’ve ever had come through the Texas League,” said TL President Tom Keyser.
