Here I am with my obligatory "would have an 8 game winning streak if not for Bannister's poor bullpen management" post. But to be honest the Rangers have finally played some good baseball at home and hopefully keep things going with Hamels in Seattle on Friday.
If you weren't consistent you'd be nothing at all, eh?

Sorry to get sidetracked but I am so impressed with this guy who you never hear much about. He has a slash line of .339/.453/.580 with 24 doubles and 22 HRs and 78 RBIs. Most of us know who he is. He is Paul Goldschmidt. And he does not really have the guys around him to help protect him.

The best player in the game that hardly anyone talks about. Shame too, b/c he hits lights out season after season.

Anyone think that Claudio should get some of the innings going to Freeman?

For me, I'm just going to enjoy beating one of the best teams in baseball 2 of 3, and then sweeping the team leading our division.

I wasn't going to have a scotch tonight.....but I'm in process of changing my mind. HA

I'll drink with ya. :drink:

Me either......think Claudy will be up/down, mainly down, for whomever he pitches for, for life.

As jta pointed out earlier, if Freeman threw more strikes, he'd be fine. Of course, he's still gotta do so.

Alright. That is one NO.

I'm not adamant about it. But I'd like to let Sam get some good quality innings "right now" and see if he/Maddux can get his ball over the plate a little better, is all I'm suggesting.

Maybe I'm just drinking too much of the Ranger Kool-Aide right now, but the Titanic BP has shown some new life with the arrival of the D & D brothers.

And I looked at Diekman like the "player-to-be-named later" almost, and when I heard Dyson was coming in off waivers, I thought, "Now that's a BFD."

Wrong it appears.

Throwing strikes is a problem for him and his work against LHers. That was the only reason I asked about Claudio. I mean Klein would be decent if he could throw strikes but I do not see either one of these pitchers doing that on a consistent basis.

Both looked like bullpen upgrades to me. The Hamels deal is looking better. As for Dyson, I'm still not happy we gave up Telis for him, but whatever.

How are hitters smacking this guy around at a .400+ clip?

His stuff looks pretty tough to me.

He will give up some hits but he's basically a ground ball machine.

2 ground outs and a K tonight.

Well, if this is your point, you'll certainly get no argument from me.

That's bizarre how Sam can't get LH out for squat. And as we've already talked about, his ball/strike ratio is poor at best.

Ya know, several of you guys were screaming for Telis to come up earlier, and I thought justifiably so.

But for whatever reason, it became pretty obvious the organization had little faith in him. Clueless as to why, but it sure did seem like either the scouting dept/FO/etc, had no faith in him being even being a small part of our future.

I read earlier that he was supposed to be unavailable tonight from pitching yesterday and the day before.

I noticed Luke Jackson had a good outing tonight where he struck out the side in his 1 inning of work. So far since he has become a relief pitcher he has thrown 37.2 innings in which he has given up 26 hits and 17 walks with 54 strikeouts. That is a WHIP of 1.14. I think we will probably add him to the Rangers bullpen mix at some point this season.

The last time they brought Telis up I thought he looked like a below average catcher to me. For some reason watching him catch behind the plate I just thought this guy is never going to amount to anything. I will take a Dyson over an average or to me below average catcher any day.
