For those wondering, Odor was pulled as the odd man out in a 9th inning defensive adjustment. Smolinski replaced Gallo as the better LF, Gallo replaced Alberto at 3B, Alberto replaced Odor at 2B.

11-17 vs the West makes them pretenders although that road record isn't too shabby.

They had like 15 games to start the season vs the West and they played awful. Since then it's been better, but I am just not ready to declare them playoff bound in June. I like how they are playing though. It's a lot more fun.

Smo has more reps in the OF than Gallo. It just made sense after Roogie had the arm issue earlier in the game and it was Joey's first game in the majors in a new position.

If we can lock Tolleson into a 9th inning role don't see why we can't lock Kela into an 8th role. Not sure what being a contender has to do with it and he would be getting experience. See no point in Scheppers and Freeman being our 8th inning guys and when healthy Ohlendorf.

It's more important that Kela learn how to pitch in the bigs than it is locking him into some role for a winning baseball club. I don't wanna see happen to him what happened to Ross and Scheppers under Wash. He over used them in their roles and they wore down.

He has a lot more experience there than Hanser does so he probably does thing Joey is the better defender.
