Pedersen is batting .105 with 0 homers and 1 RBI. He has 74 at bats.

According to an article by Zimmerman on Fangraphs if you are promoted to the majors and have at least 85 at bats and your OPS is under .650 he figures by his analysis the player will be sent back down.

Pedersen’s OPS is under .375. His is batting third tonight.

Think about that.

I am convinced without a doubt, CY and Bochy are the biggest reason for this failure thus far. Started in the off season and never got better.

We may have to rename the Mendoza line.

That thought has to make you wonder what's going on with this mgr.
Predicted a week or so ago that he does not get his average to 200 this year.
Pederson signing is a disaster not just because he can't hit but because that money could have been used on a closer.
Just surprised CY would do this realizing as pitcher himself how important the bullpen is

So far this is a disaster. The two reasons why he’s still in the lineup is his .803 career OPS and the 37 million they spent on him.

He needs to sit, plain and simple. He needs a reset. He needs to open his locker tomorrow and see a Round Rock uniform in there.

It was odd how quiet the crowd was each time Pederson came up to bat.

From Jeff Wilson:

My guess is that Cole Winn will replace Jacob Latz tomorrow in the bullpen.

Ww draft at #12 this year and I thought it would be the last time we drafted anywhere close to that high for a few years. I think i am going to be very wrong.

If the team keeps playing this way they could be picking higher than 12.
2-8 over their last 10.
Hopefully they turn this around soon.

at this rate of play they could be 15-20 games under .500 by the end of the month

If they keep playing like this. Attendance will go down once football season starts.

I don't know what this team can do at this point. The SP is going to regress soon because it's not sustainable. And then season is over by July if the offense doesn't rebound.

Bochy won't be fired. This is his last season anyway. CY is safe as well.

Semien and Pederson have untradeable contracts. Garcia and Tavares could be moved if Carter is back. Burger already sent down.

Replace Ecker? It's a start. But I'm afraid it just comes down to talent.

Offense has been bad for most of last 3 seasons going back to 40-20 start in 23. Not a slump. It's just bad.

Didn't think we'd be the worst offense in baseball but here we are.

One of the problems is that the team can't stay healthy with regard to Seager Langford Jung and Smith.
How many games have they actually played together this year? I am fairly certain it's not many.
They all need to play together for this offense to stay competitive. I know its still not enough but the team would probably be 18-15 or 19-14 if all 4 were in the same lineup this year. The team has lost 10 or 11 games that were close but 2 or 3 of them probably would have had a different outcome if all 4 guys that I mentioned were playing.
This is just a part of the problem. IMO it's been exacerbated because nobody else is hitting.
Think Heim and Leody are at probably where they should be.
It would be a big boost if Crim hits well so we don't have to count on Pederson or Burger so much in the future with respect to 1b or Dh

Justin Viele was a career 212 hitter in the minors never making it out of class A ball. He was hired by the Giants in 2020 where they are a better hitting team now since he left. This had to be a Bochy hired connection with him being our hitting coach.

if Seager is activated for tonight's game and Ornelas is sent down, i predict Bochey reverts to close to his old batting order:

Semien 2B
Seager DH
Smith SS
Langford LF
Jung 3B
Garcia RF
Crim 1B
Heim C
Taveras CF
