We have to have the record for the most Andersons in one organization.

Huge power improvement. He had warning track power last year. He blasted that ball.

From Evan Grant:

Josh Smith walks it off. Rangers win 4-3 in 10-innings. The first walkoff home run by a Ranger this season

Maybe there is one that is close this year, since Seager has had a slightly off year. He got the game winning hit tonight.
For us Smith is having a great year and Seager a down year and yet Seager is still at the top with Smith close behind. But based on his career Seager is by far our best player. Not a knock on Smith as I am very happy for him and he has done great this year.

Oh yeah. That is why I specified this year. This year, up until a couple of weeks ago, Smith and Seager were really close in OPS and Smith led for a big part of the year. This year they are at least close. Now, who knows how the next 8 weeks will go. Maybe Corey continues to pull away.

There are a few areas where Smith is better though. Defensively, Josh has the advantage. Josh is much more versatile and up to this point has been much more likely to stay healthy. That being the case, that would usually not make up for the gap in their offense. It is just that, so far this season, Seager's offense has not been up to par for him.

Any year that Seager plays like he did last year, no one on the team will be close.

This year has been very disappointing, but I cannot imagine how much worse it would be without even one of those two.

I will say, I think Josh Smith was the first half MVP.

From Jared Sandler:

Corey Seager with 4 HR in his last 4 games. Tonight's game-tying HR was Seager's second game-tying or go-ahead HR in the 8th inning-or-later this season.

Corey's last 65 games
.304/.389/.604/.993
20 HR
42 RBI

From Scott Lucas:

Chase Anderson pitched for Round Rock in 2021. So did Drew Anderson. Justin Anderson pitched in Round Rock in 2022. Shaun Anderson pitched for Round Rock earlier this year. Aidan and Grant Anderson are in Round Rock now. Ben Anderson is in Frisco.

Bruce Bochy, on Josh Smith:

“Not that we’re where we wanna be, but I can’t think of where we would be without him.”
