I really do not get sitting so many starters at once thing but our offense has been pretty dismal regardless who starts. At least Beltran, Beltre and Lucroy are in there. I wish some of our hitters would take a page from Beltran and watch how he goes with the pitch. I really like his approach.
Beltre could use a day off too. But he will fight that.

Nah the last time there was a rain out Texas had to play 40 games in 12 days.

This rain out wouldn't hurt us tho. We have so many off days scheduled coming up and Oakland is a division rival, they will be coming back to Arlington, we could just schedule a double header.

Nine Prospects Primed To Help Contenders - BaseballAmerica.com
7. Yohander Mendez, lhp, Rangers

Even with lefthanders Jake Diekman and Alex Claudio putting together strong seasons out of the bullpen, the Rangers as a whole have been pedestrian facing lefthanded hitters this year, allowing them a .768 OPS, 21st in baseball. Enter Mendez, a 6-foot-5 Venezuelan southpaw in Triple-A who has held lefties to a .178/.253/.267 slash line this season while striking out 36 of the 99 lefthanders faced. Mendez profiles as a starter, but for now he can help give Texas another option out of the bullpen to tame some of the game’s most dangerous lefties.

For this year is Mendez getting near pitch limit?

I'm surprised Odor isn't higher. His swing seems so fast.

Yes and I was surprised by Choo and thought Prince might be lower. Maybe committing early and too long swings increase speed.

I really wouldn't mind a rain out tonight. Then everyone gets two days off. Win win deal.
That may not be the best IMO. They may play the game Thursday, or on another off day or worse a future double header. I just don't see MLB allowing two days off in a row if conditions permit a game on Thursday. Just my take.

If the game doesn't get rained out, I sure hope Yu brings his A game because run support could be hard to come by.

How good has the run support been for him regardless of batting order?

Baseball is a feral child; Rangers beat A's 5-4 on walk-off hit-by-pitch.

Must read stuff on last night game from fav Ranger BB writer. LMHO
Yes and fantasy baseball is the evil cousin of the feral child.

I had two day game pitchers. Archer and Strasbourg. So last night I'm thinking hey I'm way ahead this week on ERA and have four more starts. So let me bench Archer as he tends to get lit up but I lose his K rate. So forgot to bench him and glad I did. He threw a shutout with 9K. Old reliable Stras got lit up by Colorado for 9 ER in 1.2 innings of work. :L

FWIW, our favorite player, one Josh Donaldson, was removed from the Blue Jays game today by the manager for showing his ass, yet again.

But they still won.

Houston lost this afternoon. Ready to really count them out this year. Not even a WC team. Don't give them a second thought Crawler.

The only thing I'm thinking about is all the shit they talked when they shortened our lead from 10.5 to 2.5 games while they played teams who really suck and we had a brutal schedule.

I think here in Tarrant County that most of the rain is supposed to stay south of Interstate 20 for the next few hours so they should get the game in.
