Walk off HBP. DT you left to soon.
I was ready to leave but for some reason I kept watching because I just thought we could do something against Axehead but wasn't so sure after what Maz did at the plate.

I will say this- Bob Melvin just made a big managerial mistake, one that Wash used to make with regularity.

If you are going to pull a pitcher and then intentionally walk the next batter, you have the CURRENT pitcher issue the intentional walk and THEN bring in the reliever. By bringing in the reliever to immediately issue an intentional walk, you run the risk of changing his release point and messing with his control. And that's exactly what happened there with Scrabble. His first and only pitches to a batter were four soft tosses wide. The next pitch ended up where his previous 4 went.

Glad their BP was worse than ours tonight
To me Kela was the only one who did not perform out of the pen even though I was not impressed with Jeffress. I knew when Oakland had a guy on 2nd against Kela that a grounder would find a hole and tie it up. Dyson deserved better there.

I agree...never get your new pitcher in the mode of not throwing hard.

You are exactly right. That is managing 101.
