He is really just an average OFer. But they try to make him into something better because of his other tools.

Trout is a pretty damn good outfielder. He lacks the cannon arm to be a true 5-tool player but his range, speed, and judgement in the OF are top ten in baseball.

His defensive play has really regressed in recent years

He is definitely top 10. He has botched some plays that a top 10 OFer would not. Your comment proved what I said originally. People/Media try to portrait him as a great OFer because of his other tools. That does not make you a great OFer.

Glad to see us playing better at home. Next we need to play as well against the other AL West teams as we do against the Astros. We are 8-4 against Houston but against the Angels, A's and Mariners we are 4-8, 4-9, and 2-7. No excuse for those records especially against the A's and Mariners.

The Kansas City Royals have agreed to sign veteran pitchers Joba Chamberlain and Wandy Rodriguez to minor-league contracts, the team announced Sunday.

Both players will report to the Royals’ Triple A affiliate in Omaha, according toAndy McCullough of the Kansas City Star.

Rodriguez was released by the Texas Rangers earlier this month after posting a 4.90 ERA in 86 1/3 innings. In his final appearance for Texas, Rodriguez allowed seven runs on six hits and three walks in just one inning.

I sure hate this, and hope it's just a readjustment for him. I'm wondering if his lack of day-to-day service hasn't gotten him off his rhythm somewhat. Maybe it's like ST all over again for him.

TRIPLE-A ROUND ROCK (68-54) had only four hits in a 3-2 loss at Sacramento (San Francisco.) LF Ryan Rua, batting lead-off, had one of the hits. Rua is 5-for-26 with 10 strikeouts since being demoted from the major-league club.

Meant to say not top 10.

That last appearance was too bad for him and us. He did well for us in a number of games as a starter but the BP did not work for him. It was good we had him with our lack of starters for the time we did have him.

Absolutely.....We would have been in some really seas if not for him pitching well for his first 7 starts or so. I appreciate what we accomplished while he was with us, and wish him well.

I have now doubt that our poor handling affected him. Need to not call him back up unless he's playing daily.

Agree.....It's a shame a guy who paid his dues and earned a starting spot at the beginning of the season, is now in this situation.

But like we've said, hopefully he'll overcome this slow start, regroup/regain and come back better than ever.

Get so tired of watching trout jump and dive unnecessarily to make catches look fantastic.

LOL, like the OF version of Pedrioa.

"Routine ground ball to 2nd base, Pedrioa gets up and dusts himself off and flips the ball to 1st for the out".

Tonight feels like a very important game. The Mariners have owned us. If we are to have any shot, we must do better against the M's and the A's.

Here-here!

We've got to beat the teams which we're better than, and the A's and M's both rank in that category.

And we've got to win more games in our own division. Think I saw yesterday where we're 10 games below .500 against teams in our division. Just not going to get the job done if we hope to compete for a WC position.

Derek Holland (shoulder) is expected to rejoin the Rangers' rotation on Wednesday against the Mariners.

That's assuming he feels fine Monday after Sunday's bullpen session. Holland's results during his rehab assignment weren't very good, as he had a 6.00 ERA over 12 innings. However, his velocity has been good and he feels ready, which is all the Rangers are really looking for.

Rangers pitcher Derek Holland has one more test before returning to the team's starting rotation. Holland has been out since injuring his shoulder in his first start of the year, in April. He threw a bullpen on Sunday. If he feels good on Monday, the day after the throwing session, then he'll return to the starting rotation on Wednesday, per the Fort Worth Star Telegram.
