Yeah

Yeah
If you pay attention, then he really isn't a no name
If Wash was going to use Ross tonite then he should have just put him in to face Gregorius in the 8th. Maybe it still does not matter but the 13 inning affair yesterday really screwed us in this one.
Or if he did use Ross and he gave up the Homer. Then you would be saying " Yu was on a roll why did he take him out " Stuff just happens sometimes
I knew the Seattle game would have probably screwed us in one of these games wiith all of our good relievers spent.
The blown save by Nathan didn't help matters, but the lack of clutch hitting is the real killer lately. The bottom four in last nights line up, counting Darvish aren't going to scare anybody. Neither is the #2 guy, Murphy who is hitting a sparkling .143 over the last 7 games.
Lack of timely hitting has been the root cause ruining a number of great pitching performances creating an inordinate number of high leverage situations for the bullpen to face night after night.
Installation of Murphy in the #2 spot in an effort to trigger his season long slump has failed. The Murphy/Baker LF platoon is failed with Murphy batting .198 (.635OPS) vs RHP and .265 (.653OPS) vs LHP while Baker is batting .333 (.666OPS) vs RHP and .389 (1.389OPS) vs LHP.
Murphy needs to be relegated to a bench bat w/Baker making all the starts in LF with the non-starting CF being the late inning defensive replacement.
Murphy is not going to be brought back in 2014. TEX would be better served to activate either Joey Butler or Engle Beltre ... or acquire a replacement value COF by the ASB. In the meantime a no brainer would be to keep Baker in the lineup as often as possible especially with the lack of timely hitting by the regulars while Kinsler is out.
Murphy is less than a spare. Were this his first season he wouldn't have made the team out of camp.
Murphy has struggled for sure but with 3 to play his line for the month is
.270/.313/.486/.799 and is second on the team for May with 16 RBI's.
Unfortunately, the season started in April.
.167 + .270 = .218
Not debating April, you're right. By your figures he's raised his average 51 points.
He's the starting LF. Both CF have out hit him despite platoon play. TEX would be better served offensively and defensively to start both Gentry and Martin and leave Murphy on the bench as a part time/backup DH and 4OF.
TEX doesn't need a roster spot tied up by a marginally effective LF-only player who takes the first third of every season off. Murphy will not be back in 2014 and is not the piece that will take TEX to the post season in 2013 and needs to go.
We haven't even got to 1/3 of the season (that comes with tomorrow nights game). I'll give you the 2 CFers are better defensively and yep they have better batting averages but Murphy has more HR's and RBI's than both combined. Oh and defensively you're wrong cause Cruz is our worst defensive OFer. I'm betting by the end of the year he'll be pretty close to his .281 BA and .791 OPS career stats.
