Well I'm not hanging around to watch us go 1-2-3 in the 9th whenever they decide to play again...back tomorrow evening if my stomach can bear it. Luckily Yu is on the mound...

My consecutive thread victories ended at 1. Awesome! Go for it Darryl. You had that nice streak going at one time. Many moons ago.

In a galaxy far, far away. I really don't care who wins tomorrow. And as far as the next thread :noidea:

Someone should just wake me when it's March 2015.

This year has sucked.... I just hope we lose as many games as possible ( for a better draft pick) without actually losing 100 games because I think there is a stigma associated with teams who lose that much in a season.

We won't lose 100 I'm pretty sure.

It's a graveyard here. Only to get more so. As it looks this team is years away. I know Boston did it in one year. Not sure this team can turn it around that quickly. This team needs more than just getting their healthy payers back. 2011 seems so long ago.

Say goodnight, Gracie.

Leury Garcia is only hitting in the high 100's but he drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 9th against the Angels.

Everyone forgets Perez. Think his lose possibly felt the worst. Think he was to have one heckuva year. Now you really can't expect him next year.

No way I could forget about Perez. If you notice, I said the whole Rotation except for Yu.
And I agree, it's unlikely Perez will be able to make much of a difference next year. In his case, I guess we just hope he eventually returns to promising-form, which he should...when is the obvious question.

Man this season is tough. I started DVRing the games the other day because I have been busy but half the time when I see how things are going, I just start watching them in fast forward.

Still here till the bitter end but it sure looks like it is going to be just that. I look forward to when the rosters expand so we can see some more of the young guys. It also should be interesting to see how Holland and Soto do when they return. I am actually sort of thinking Chirinos has won himself the starting catching job next season but I suppose, things could change- still an very long season ahead.

Congrats to Nelly for hitting a HR on his Bday- only reason I remember that is bc it is the same day as my wife's.

Anyway, on a bright note, my wife and I saw Emmitt Smith just a table across from us at a restaurant we ate at last night. I wanted to approach him but I decided it not to as he looked like he was in important conversation with some colleagues. Funny thing is, I wouldn't have even noticed if our waiter didn't say something.

Chironos has been the uplifting news this season. I WISH I could DVR the games, but you have to pay for that with the streaming on line, and it doesn't always work so well. So in my case, I have to watch or turn it off.

Glad Nellie is having a good year.
It is hard to approach 'famous' people, you don't want to be 'that guy' who interrupts them. I however did approach Fred Couples a few years ago while he was eating with his (apparently GF) at In&Out burger, only because my cousin would not shut up and begged me.
Thank God Couples was really nice.

I think Romeo was right. Leo has a ten cent head.

He's one that HAS to start showing some promise at the plate, that's a killer because he's pretty darn good at everything else. And he may indeed have a 10 cent head, don't know.

I honestly wish Martin was our biggest concern b/c then we wouldn't really have one IMO.

Yes, his plate discipline - lack thereof - needs lots of work. But like you said, and well too, he does everything else pretty good. Now, he may indeed have a 10 cent brain, but this doesn't necessarily, by itself anyway, preclude him from having a wonderful career since he's 26.

I think one of the problems for this team this year is we really don't have any true leadership. Although AB actually leads by example, he's not a real verbal rah-rah-rah kind of player. Just not who he is a person it seems to me.

It's probably worse than you realized:

The Rangers entered the day with a composite .586 on-base-plus-slugging percentage from the six players they’ve tried in the No. 3 spot. Consider this: Since 1917, only once has an AL team had a lower OPS from the No. 3 spot for a full-season.

Probably a bad idea ordinarily but if the ops is that bad then put Beltre in the # 3 spot. What's to lose and maybe something to gain. :noidea:

He doesnt hit well in the 3 spot...

Taken from an article in May....

"The Rangers hope to get more production from Beltre in the No. 3 spot, but for his career he’s actually been far more effective hitting fourth. He has an .869 OPS for 2,756 plate appearances as the No. 4 hitter, compared with .711 for 861 plate appearances in the No. 3 spot."
