I imagine that as soon as the Rangers feel confident that Smith is here to stay that they will move Duran up to Round Rock. Him and Crim both deserve to be promoted to AAA.

I wonder what kind of pitching prospect we could get from a team that needed Lowe, Calhoun and Heim if we threw in a couple of our prospects(not top 10). Or maybe a three team trade. I am not talking about a lower level pitching prospect, but someone who is either already at AAA or doing so well at AA that an immediate promotion is warranted. A pitching prospect that would immediately become one of our top 10 prospects. That would open us up to having Duran and Crim come up and play every day.

I don't think Corey has had one yet, and over the past 2 weeks Semien has better numbers.
True and SS is more taxing but an 0-6 maybe a person needs to get their head together. I know he barely misses a HR

Barely is same as a mile. He has a problem that has to be corrected.

I'm just not where everyone else is with Semien. Before yesterday was hitting around .340 or some such in the past dozen or so games. Not saying he's without issues, but he's been steadily improving over the past few weeks, so I don't think the hammer needs to be brought down right now.

He should do what Calhoun did when he was so bad. Find his problem and try and correct it.

in my opinion, that's what has been happening
Not saying to bring the hammer down but a day or two off to study films etc or moving him down a notch to relieve pressure won't hurt at all.

I don’t think he should be benched regularly but I think he needed to be moved down in the lineup. Yes he has gotten hits in practically all the last 16 games.

Maybe the metrics make him better now and he is over the hump. He has not found his power though.

I guess the thing I don’t want to happen is he is treated like a special case because of his contract regardless of results

Hopefully this is the day he turns it around and gets back to doing what he did very well.

Saw where Matt Carpenter who is only hitting .227 since being picked up by the Yankees hit his 3rd HR already leading off the 1st inning against Ohtani.

he's a veteran with a big contract. that comes with special treatment, and that's the way it's generally done.

I think the excitement over Perez, Huff and Smith has created a lot of buzz and more posts.

fair point.

I guess Nick Solak and Spencer Howard just weren't as inspiring
