So, none of these eleven pitchers nor Whitey Ford achieved the streak that Walter Johnson, Bob Gibson, or Martin Perez have.

They get an advantage in the count and with guys on base, their ego gets the better of them. It’s cooler to win with a big hit then a walk I guess.
