i think i would start with Smith, Wendzel or Harris & either Taveras or Thompson. Wendzel isn't killing it at the plate but at least he's a 3rd baseman Smith and Taveras or Thompson give us good outfielders

It always adds some excitement to me to see guys you are pulling for come up and play at the MLB level. Hoping he does well. Will be interesting to see how they work him in as far as playing time goes.

We lost yesterday because of Ibanez’s fielding at 3rd. He didn’t even field at a AA or A level yesterday. I like how reactive the new front office is.

if JD was in charge they would wait for him to accumulate 50 more errors and then shrug it off as growing pains.

Hope he gets some real opportunities to start at 3B for a bit.
Seems like the type of player that could potentially hit for decent power, maybe .275 average with high OBP, no?

Probably because Smith has had a decent amount of ABs in AAA while Duran is still in AA. They probably want Duran to get some more seasoning before calling him up. Seems he likely has a higher ceiling than Smith?

I’m hoping he’s a Ben Zobrist type player. Super utility that can play most positions and hit .275/.345/.465 15-20 HR, 30 doubles and steal 10-15 bags or so.

It would be fantastic if he could fill that kind of role with similar production to Zobrist.

While is 3.10 ERA looks low on a small sample his FIP, WHIP and mainly BB/9 are sky high. Maybe they felt he was due to implode soon. They want strike throwers as well.
