Going in tandem is not a bad idea as long as the rest of our starters can eat up 6-7 innings on a consistent basis.

NickM could probably also tandem with any other starter that occasionally struggles not just Lewis, as we've had several struggle to get through 6 innings

All this is of course contingent on Holland coming back b/c til then Martinez is needed in the actual rotation

Whew, KC torching Detroit tonight, scherzer gives up 10 ER...I'd be a little concerned if I was a Tiger fan, they suddenly seem old and disorganized...

So does the signing of Pena mean we might call up another 1B from the minors? I guess not since he's going to AAA and we don't have another one worth a shit in AAA. I doubt anything comes from it.

Organizational depth maybe..... In the high likelihood that another 1B goes down.

Giving a young player a chance pays off sometimes. It's not like he was killing it at AA. His AVG is better at the ML level. This is why I would rather give some youngsters the opportunity to succeed then 30+ year old minor league vets. At least there's the possibility of hitting gold.

He killed AA last year when called up from MB. He had a slow start and his average was going up at the time of his call up this year.

Either way, my point remains the same.

And I agree with you on giving our youngsters opportunities over aging minor leaguers. Even more so with our DL situation.

Alright, let's do this. USA with 3 huge points over Ghana and I'm feeling it for our rangers tonight.

Saw where Ross will be a starter at RR so that they have more time to work on his mechanics between starts. A little surprised by this.
