Anyone got a prediction on how Darvish will do tonight? That ballpark and his past performances against them, I was cautiously optimistic but have since tempered that as well. I would like to see the offense perform well again tonight to hopefully let him just go out and have a solid start.

Maybe not a prediction, but sure a statement of fact:

Darvish's problems against Oakland are well documented. He's 0-7 with a 5.32 ERA in his last eight starts against the Athletics, going 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in two this year with Coco Crisp 4 for 5 against him and John Jaso 3 for 6.

Yu needs to start getting this monkey off his back, beginning on 17 June 2014.

I think he does well tonight. He should know to adjust his pitching strategy against those guys. They don't swing at pitches out of the strike zone. Quit throwing balls in the dirt trying to get a strike out, the A's won't swing. They'd rather get a walk then a hit.

I think Yu has shown some growth this season in not trying to strike everyone out like he's done previously. Now, he really needs to assert his will over a team which has wore him out.

And your assessment of A's and their hitting approach is right on IMO.

His biggest issue is command, he can find that again, the velocity is back to the high 80 and low 90s, the stuff is still there, the key is being consistent with it

Him and Martinez could probably make an effective pairing going forward at times, Colby going 4-5 and Martinez going 2-3 innings

Going in tandem is not a bad idea as long as the rest of our starters can eat up 6-7 innings on a consistent basis.

Do you all believe Ross needs to go back down to AAA? I seem to think so. He just dies not have it and there us no way we can trust him in key situations. He cannot even be situational against LHers. Maybe going to RR would help him work on some things.

BOSTON -- The Grady Sizemore experiment in Boston appears to have come to an end.

The Boston Red Sox designated the outfielder for assignment Tuesday, recalling third baseman Garin Cecchini from Triple-A Pawtucket to take his roster spot.

A former great player and fantastic guy. Hope he gets a chance somewhere else and can recreate his previous success.

It can't hurt things for him to go to Frisco/RR. What's the downside?

And honestly, without doing any research, he seems to be at his worst against lefties.

I also think Odor has made some strides at the plate. He seems to have a better eye and has a confidence about him. I liked how he took those outside pitches the other way last night against a LH. We may have something special with him and remember he is the youngest player in MLB. So he is learning but you can see the learning taking place in front of our eyes in a short period of time.

Giving a young player a chance pays off sometimes. It's not like he was killing it at AA. His AVG is better at the ML level. This is why I would rather give some youngsters the opportunity to succeed then 30+ year old minor league vets. At least there's the possibility of hitting gold.

KC is about to take 1st place from DET. I mentioned a week or so again that I hope KC keeps it up. That would be hilarious if DET missed out on the playoffs.

Verlander was rocked yesterday, and Scherzer has given up 7ER in the first 2 today

You'll have to stay up and let me know how it goes, I have early duties in the morning and that one last night lasted until almost 1 am. Hope this one is quick because Yu shuts them down.

Those 2 have killed my whole fantasy week already. Fordman will be happy, he's gonna whip my ass this week!

God Speed sir......

But the game last night was like a bad ride at Six Flags; which ended well just like those rides though.

Sincerely hope all is well and you can watch some of "the coming out of Yu vs the A's" party tonight.

Hope the VA you were at is up to snuff. Disgraceful what's been going on there nationally. Haven't heard anything on the Texas VAs.

Duane and I've been wondering that final would put a smile on your face this morning. Hope for the same result, or something to it, happens tonight. Go Yu!
