Had a feeling this one would be close. Hate to lose like that but good job by Martinez. Need to at least pick up one W with Yu on the mound tomorrow.

i will say though, im jealous of the people that live in tampa. Beautiful area. When I used to play baseball in high school, I played in the perfect game tournament that was at the red sox spring training facility and went to a tampa game. Loved the city.

Cool story right?

Some parts of it. I missed my exit for the hotel twice the first time I was there and had to drive over that damn St. Petersburg bridge. It takes 15 minutes to get across with nowhere to turn around. So each time I made the mistake it cost me a half hour.

Hopefully Oakland wins against Seattle tomorrow and Darvish stops the bleeding. If that happens, we would be 1 game out of the division lead. I'd say that would be pretty good considering what I've seen on the field so far from this team.

Cotts just doesn't look the same as last year early this season..... Hopefully its nothing big. That's what always scares me about bullpen pitchers. They can be dominant one season and hittable the next. I'm not saying cotts falls in that category..... Not yet anyways

I think expecting Cotts to get anywhere close to the year he had last year is unreasonable. I felt this way before tonight. I really don't see him as a set-up guy.

It's alright I guess, I don't consider it beautiful. It just looks like another bridge to me, but painfully long. I guess the part going back into Tampa where you're pretty much at sea level is pretty cool.

Baker pitched 6 innings of 2 hit ball giving up 1 run. K'd 7 and walked 1 for RR.

I don't want to be the asshole here but I would fully expect Yu to be a bit rusty, when was the last time he threw in a game? I am not going to expect a 3 hit complete game from him, that said if he pitched out of his mind I wouldn't be surprised either. Im just going to be real and say if he doesn't pitch really good tomorrow, I kind of expected it.

It's probably in Texas' best interests for Seattle to beat Oakland as many times as possible.

I was going to say something along these lines earlier. I see him tacking some more walks onto what seems like a lot from our staff so far. We need more from the line-up.

The lineup will get going. Not worried about that.

I don't know. I thought the bottom was kind of weak before the injuries. We just need to stay afloat, and pray Harrison and Colby get back soon

Bottom has been producing fairly well. It's the fielder and Beltre who haven't gotten going yet.

Yeah that's definitely a possibility. If he can get us through 6 or 7 giving up 2-3 runs, I like our chances though. Probably will come down to how strong he starts in the early innings... Yu always seems to finish well. We really need to avoid the sweep if possible. Also, you never know who you may be fighting for a WC spot with in September and the Rays always seem to at least compete for that.

I know it is disappointing we lost since the lead was given to our bullpen but it was still encouraging to see how well Nick pitched in his first MLB start.
