I was never a big advocate of bringing in Oswalt but understand why the Rangers did so. Do I think he can be a fifth starter? Yes, but not a difference maker in the postseason. He has been lit up pretty good against Detroit and LA

so Gonzo, Snyder & Torrealba are better hitters and the only other guy on the bench was Gentry who was our only other OF'er and comes in for defense. if we had used him as the DH and then had needed him in the OF our pitchers would have had to bat

HA, Murphy/Cruz/Hamilton could've DH'ed and Gentry could and should've played CF

Gentry was the only hitter I was referring to

Snyder also plays OF could've been an OFer off the bench

Trying to defend Young at this point is pointless and stupid, look at the numbers, I can't believe even you would support him at this point

The man is the WORST everyday player in the majors, and would be worse if he played defense regularly

Open your eyes, today should've been an announcement that Oswalt was going to the bullpen and Young was occupying a seat on the pine

Michael Young used to be a great baseball player. No denying that. Now, like jta said, he's is arguably one of the worst everyday players in baseball. He can't play defense at all, and his once every 7 games or so 2-4 line with an rbi just doesn't cut it anymore. He, like Napoli, have become major liabilities for this club. Both are a big reason this offense has become so stale, along with Josh of course. 16 mil next year for MY. What a waste of resources.

Napoli is actually squaring up on pitches again, the average hasn't rebounded yet, but the power numbers have,

I still think he rebounds to the .250 range

Hamilton looked better last night, hopefully that was a sign of things to come, as he hasn't had a game like that in a while,

I think Cruz is what he is, streaky

Young has just been consistently terrible since April, no hope in sight for him

But what do you do with the Face of the franchise? Sit him? PH duties only. Dugout cheerleader? I really don't know, but baseball-wise, he really brings nothing to the field anymore, relative to his pay grade and other MLB players..
