Young was only able to be a part of the epic rally last night because Romine couldn't field the weak grounder he hit. Weak ground balls are all you will ever hit if you're hitting off your front foot. And you will constantly hit off your front foot if you lunge at everything. And you will lunge at everything if you stand 5 feet away from the plate, pitchers (and everyone else) can see this, and feed you a constant diet of outside corner pitches. It's not exactly rocket science. He got away with it earlier in his career because his bat was quicker and he was able to extend out faster and be an effective opposite field hitter. Not anymore.
