I never said he was a big game pitcher. But Verlander has had much more playoff success than Kershaw. Not even close.

agree, after 30 yr old. before Verlander was 6-5, Kershaw 9-9 and Verlander had Miggy.

This can’t be a serious question. Blasphemous to be honest.

Here is the real question, how many strikeouts would RNdy Johnson average against these all or nothing hitters now days? 15 minimum.

Easily Big Unit. And he did his damage in a hitters era pitching in hitters parks (Kingdome, Chase Field or whatever AZs stadium was called).

You forgot arguably his greatest and most dominant stretch when he played in the Astrodome.

It's a good side-topic since he had many dominant stretches....

In that Houston stretch, he had a 1.28 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 4.5 K/BB in 84 innings...

Other comparable stretches:
1994 - 77 IP stretch with a 1.16 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, 4.5 K/BB
1997 - 71 IP stretch with a 1.14 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, 4.2 K/BB
2000 - 82 IP stretch with a 1.31 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, 7.1 K/BB
2001 - 74 IP stretch with a 1.33 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, 6.9 K/BB
2002 - 103 IP stretch with a 1.31 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, 5.7 K/BB

True, but I’m more talking about the situation where he intentionally pitched like trash to get traded then snapped his finger turning into the most dominant pitcher of 98 season.

Randy Johnson was a league average pitcher until his age 30 season. He had arguably the greatest 30s of any modern pitcher though.
