Here's is Reason #3 (from Yahoo) as to why NorCal loves the Sharks:

Randy Hahn and Drew Remenda

Granted these are two people, but they represent a single reason as together Hahn and Remenda make up one the best pair of TV game announcers in the business. Hahn provides the play-by-play and ex-Sharks assistant coach Remeda the insight in to what's happening. Together, this dynamic duo brings Sharks action to fans in such a high standard they're often used for national telecasts and were the voices of the NHL2K10 video game.


Do you agree? I haven't heard enough other teams to say yay or nay, but there has to be a better pair, right?

Randy and Drew are sure one of the better NHL announcer teams out there.

I personally can't stand the Ducks, Avs, Kings, Rangers, Nucks announcers. They suck!!!!!

Randy and drew are really good together, they are friends not just colleagues and it shows on air, it really helps that remenda finally got off thorntons ball sack

I think 2 things could improve them:
1. Randy needs to stop calling it a "shot clock". It is the shot count.
2. Drew needs to stop railing (incessantly) on the refs. Calling them out is fine, but to go on & on is homerish & unprofessional.

PS: Randy, when playing PHO, please refer to them as "Desert Dogs" only once per game.

I usually let this slide as he does call out bad calls on both sides of the puck and correct his mistakes when the replay shows otherwise.


The pair definitely have some quirks, some of them a little tongue in cheek, but over all I think they are one of the best pairs to listen to. Randy has a great tempo to his call that increases in speed and tension as the game gets tense... you can almost feel the pressure.
